A simple method I use after adjusting a chain, pull the bike off the stand and sit on it the here the chain should have a bit of slack but not much and definitely not like a banjo string

I can’t comment on the FMF yet, will likely be a bit before I get to ride it. On the fence whether to have the stock ECU tuned or pull the trigger on a vortex...

If you want low to mid power you better buy a 17-18-19 kxf 250 or a 19-20-21 yzf 250. The 2021 kxf 250 is a screamer, it does have more low-mid power than the 2020, but not as much as the 17-18-19 motor. My 2 cents.

He is 18 and guys like Colt and Craig are 8-10 years older. The young man is doing just fine for his 2nd year.

Gonna be tough to find comfort out of the stock setup for you guys around 150 lb IMO. Likely need atleast lighter fork springs and revalve front and rear.

I reread my post above - very poorly written. I just revised it for clarity. Sorry for the confusion. Recap: I am building a system where I manually bring into play a checkvalve (that cracks at ~ 34 psi) when a thumb-operated (button) valve opens the pathway to the pressure in the PSF1 main chambers when the forks are uncompressed (over jumps, during wheelies, etc.). I bleed off the excess pressure (anything in excess of ~ 34 psi) as I feel the fork getting stiffer in a moto session.

Correct me if I’m wrong but either of these won’t work, when your fork compresses the air chamber gets smaller causing the pressure to go up this is what gives the air spring it’s progressiveness. In order for a bleeder to work it would have to know to bleed at a certain set point, and only when the fork is...

If you’re fast and not a complete douche bag deals or free bikes will find you.... Guaranteed. Having a buddy start a Gofundme for you to buy a bike is ridiculous.

Ya... idk anything about the kid, but if you’re a framer in California and can’t afford to buy your own bike, have to borrow others bikes and a buddy sets up a GoFundMe to get other to donate in order to get a bike, you probably shouldn’t be riding/racing and need to get your priorities in line.

This is why I have been using Matrix Concepts for as long as I have. I have stacks of stands and mats, as I like new ones every year and they don't break so I just keep them in the corner and give away or use for projects all the time. Customer service is second to none, and that goes a long way in this industry. Ryan

The stock set up still has not tackled the issues he mentioned. It’s way more tuneable and a revalve improves it quite a bit. It’s still harsh on slap down landings and still does net get front traction like a spring fork.

I’ve been using maxima. In my opinion it seems like the setup doesn’t seal very well considering others are having the same issues. A buddy I know has put 75-100 hours on 3 newer ktms without ever even taking apart the steering assembly and never had any problems

I have a 21 kx250 and greased them after the first ride, after only 10 hours the steeering was starting to get notchy. Tore into it yesterday and the upper bearing had been a little contaminated/rusty the lower wasn’t bad. I was able to clean up the bearing and it feels good as new now. Used more grease around the...
