A better title for this thread would have been, "Is this the future of MX - for people who own a small amount of acreage?" Because, for those of us who do, that question is infinitely more compelling. It's about having new and better opportunities to ride, not fewer and worse. Electric might not be the future, but it has a future - because no noise. Simple.

I think you are seriously understating electric bikes one true advantage & benefit. Noise Your kid can learn to ride in a backyard track, empty field, or even many MTB trails. Something we haven’t had since the 90’s. I see tracks on my local trails all the time. Nobody even knows they are riding. Incredibly important for the future of the sport in my opinion.

It would be a huge shame if Oliver wouldn't have a ride for next year. His speed in his rookie MXGP campaign was impressive.

I’m rooting for Yigit Ali Selek in MXGP. Yes, he’s a full 60 seconds slower than EVERYONE (on a two minute lap) in practice, and that means he’ll be lapped every other lap. But, if he digs deep (and just gets his ass to the start line), he’ll be heading for a guaranteed pair of 17ths and eight points. And he’ll leave the track (if you can call it that) on Sunday as the 37th-ranked rider in the world championship. Something to be proud of.

Perhaps Febvre-Vialle-Renaux with Vialle on the 250? Renaux has been subpar lately, but a better choice as an unfit Valin imo.

The other option would be Grau... who is excetionally good on hard pack this year but i would still pick Valin even with 0 GPs in last 2 months under his belt.

it would't work with the current format, you would have to run a seperate womans race, as the mix with top males would be dangerous with the closing speeds, its bad enough in the qualifiers now with some of the male riders from smaller nations, (the top 5 ish would be ok, but the fall off in USA and MXGP WMX is massive)

Seems like the primary risk is riders crossing lines because they don't hear an ebike is behind them.

Ruben fernandez is the best free agent out there. Has won motos before in the 450 class. We dont know how good farres will be in the 450 class and ruben has shown with a good start he can podium. Wont surprise me to see Ruben on a kawi next year.

I think it’s tough getting viewers to watch a 5 hour program every single Saturday. They must see trends in viewership outside of a certain window of time. I love the sport, watch every race, and after the first couple rounds don’t have time to watch the entire day every Saturday. A 2-3 hour program I could fit easily

Just raced the amateur classic there this past weekend. That track is so gnarly, like chocolate cake on steroids in the morning. Then at the end of the day it’s like a warzone. Not one inch didn’t have a rut or a bump. Kickers on the massive jumps too. I made a last lap pass in gravity cavity, shit like that is what I do it all for man what a feeling!

Yeah, those Euros always struggle when they leave their homes, uproot their lives to race overseas in a new series on different bikes, to prove their speed against riders completely acclimatised to racing where they've raced their whole lives. Not like all the AMA riders who kill it when they go over to race the GP's. Oh wait...

Prado also had mechanical issues in 2024 they were just earlier in the season. His seat fell off in one race.
