3/31/2025 8:28pm I suppose. But that confuses me a little more, do you not like the rules or do you not like the volunteers who enforce the rules? At the end of the day, rules like that are for everyones benefit so we can continue to enjoy the sport we love for years to come. I understand where you're coming from not wanting "regulations" but in todays world that just can't be reality.

3/31/2025 8:28pm I have a big offroad track at my house and nothing pisses me off more than litter. We're doing a regional scrambe race here this year and I'm going to have cans everywhere. That being said, I don't know the rules for the tearoffs in the new england clubs - I guess I'll have to look. My opinion is ban them.

3/31/2025 8:25pm Wait, you think it's stupid that they require spark arrestors? Chances of starting a fire via a dirt bike is small but that's a really weird hill to die on

3/31/2025 8:23pm I have heard they can kill cows. We had an XC race in Indiana where the property owner banned tear offs for that reason. I think the Euro guys have a system that retains the tear offs. I don't know if I would like having used tear offs flapping against my helmet for an hour+ but it might be an option for those that don't want roll offs.

3/31/2025 8:23pm I think it's obvious, tear-offs should be absolutely banned especially in off-road type events and the industry should work towards banning them in MX as well.

3/31/2025 8:19pm I think you missed in the OP, these are not moto tracks in question; these are off road "trail" courses that are cut on private active cattle ranches that are leased to the local MC clubs to host a single weekend race. The ranchers sometimes move the cattle from the race area, then after the race is over and everything (less tear offs) is cleaned up, the cows come back.

3/31/2025 8:18pm Oregon Motorcycle Racing Association banned tear-offs almost 20 years ago. An easy rule to follow- No littering. The hosting club always checks for tear-offs on the start line = easy enforcement. Tear-offs will stay there for 10 more generations. What a lame legacy to leave...

3/31/2025 8:05pm My off-road club (Florida Trail Riders, the largest non-profit off-road racing organization in the country) has a recent rule proposal to ban tear-offs. The idea behind banning them is almost all of our races are held on private land that spends the majority of the year being some sort of cattle ranch. Cows eat just about anything, and tear offs can't be good for any of their stomachs plus the fact it's just plain littering and isn't the best look for the landowners to see a bunch of plastic blowing around their fields. We obviously try to clean them after...

3/27/2025 11:59am I understand wanting to bring manufacturing back to the US . But that will take years. A single term is not long enough to shift manufacturing to the US in large amounts. It would have to be a common goal among both parties and a majority of the people. Couldn't they accomplish the same thing with a pledge made by manufacturers to start making stuff in the US by a certain date or then there would be Tariffs ? So many things are made with parts that are made years before. If You started to build a factory out now, that...

3/27/2025 11:57am Corporations taking a 15% loss without passing it down to the consumer is unheard of. For the leaders who claimed that, I have a feeling they aren’t on the consumers side.

3/27/2025 11:56am Cool story bro. I don't give a flying fuck what any politician is trying to do. It's not orange man bad for me. It's they are all corrupt dickholes who don't give a flying fuck about what the people actually want. I'm not here to get into a political talk because every politcian on this planet could fall into a volcano for all I care. At the end of the day, nothing you said changes the fact that our sport could meet it's demise because of the government whether it be bad orange man, bad white man or bad brown...

3/27/2025 11:55am American here 15% price increase on a $10k bike is $11.5k It’s not nothing. In fact, it’s a lot of money. Most Americans can’t afford the $10k dirtbike. Honestly if this effects even 10-20% of new bike sales it could have big effects on support in our sport.
