I flagged the race yesterday. Five lightning delays and two torrential downpours. We raced until about 7:30 pm, and the track really was in pretty good condition all day, especially before the first downpour after moto 3. Even after that, the owner worked the track and had his crew push the top layer of muck off the track, and the conditions were still surprisingly good. For sure, no dust! Nashville Supercross this year was in Morgan wallens bar and me and my buddy are at the bar buying a drink, my buddy goes why do i recognize that guy thats across the bar from us, I look it and its Jeremy McGrath, Jeremy noticed us talking and looking at him and knew we recognized him and he waved us over and we talked about the race that night. Dude is truly just a huge fan of the sport deal, after that was over I asked if he cared for a pic, was definitely really cool

I did 4 nationals. Never qualified. Honestly never really went in with the idea to qualify. Just to “enjoy it & experience it.” Embarrassed myself a few times but had a couple decent performances. Pala practice was unreal. lol. Millville was sick. Probably my best riding was at Millville. Ironman was ridiculous. It rained the night before & it was insanely rutted. I feel like it’s way more stacked right now too. Like Josh Mosiman is insanely fast & he barely made it at Pala & in the lcq at Hangtown. That’s ridiculous.

For me the addiction isn’t as much the adrenaline but the peace I get when I’m on the bike. That peace is next to impossible to explain to anyone who hasn’t ridden. I’m so focused and zeroing in on what I’m doing there’s no room for thoughts of anything else. For those moments I have no stress, no bills, no political garbage, no spam calls, no drama, nothing. That is peace

It was definately an addiction for me from 1981 till about 2014. Not only is the adrenaline addicting but to me chasing that “perfect lap” is addictive. Like down siding all the landings just right, hitting the ruts in the corners just right and being in that flow state if you will. That’s something I love on ride days

Well said! I'm 69 and still riding mx. I don't race but ride pratice days about once a week. Like Gravel I've had my share of injuries, bought a lot of bikes and spent too much money. But I still love to ride, and I'll continue doing it until I can't. So , hell yes it's addictive! lol

Dirt biking is a source of adrenaline. Adrenaline can lead to the release of dopamine, which is addictive

Same. I’ve never been a great rider, I’ve had a few injuries, I’ve lost good women and friends, spent way too much money, all part of a 50+ year obsession with moto. Started riding /racing BMX in 1972 and it’s progressed from there. At 61 and still riding/racing occasionally, and I don’t know what I’ll do whenever riding isn’t a part of my life anymore. It’s not for everyone, but I have no regrets.
