I’ve never messed with one of those. But I’d guess that it’s a problem with the choke plunger or the ports going to the choke are clogged (assuming it has some)

Back in the olden days RMs didn't come with a throttle screw. You either raced it or parked it

Have you tried turning in the idle screw until something happens? Its possible for whatever reason its just turned out way too far. If the bike will hold a normal idle with the throttle slightly open it sounds like its just idled too low. All the idle screw does is just hold the throttle slightly open. Turning it in will...

Can you make it idle if you hold the throttle partially open? Or does it just die under 1/8 throttle?

Yes they were... my partially torn right labrum just twinged looking at those photos!! The motor was amazing, problem was the damn thing was so stiff it would react to every and all inputs... intentional or unintentional. When I was fresh it was killer, when I got tired it would spit me off without warning ending up with afor mentioned partial torn labrum... I still have no clue what happened!

You can remove it and drill it deeper then tap it again, as was stated here. Or you could find someone who welds aluminum and have them weld it up then redrill and tap it. Iether way I hope you found all the peices and none of them are floating around in there.

That looks like the bolt boss that holds the valve cover on. If that’s the case you might want to drill and tap the threads all the way through and use a longer bolt. Best to remove the cam tower to do that.

A little back story. After riding my Beta RX and my KX450, I stall my Honda every now and then. I’m old and slow and not above wrong gear whatever. I also don’t ride my Honda much, in fact I really haven’t ridden it all that much since I bought it. Just never blew my dress up. After not being able to sell for cheap, I threw a Luxon triple clamp and re sprung cause of weight loss. Which really helped with handling. Figured for grins I’d add a 10oz flywheel weight. I hoped it would take the edge off...

Took my Honda with 10 oz flywheel to Ultimate MX this morning. Loved the heavy flywheel so much I’m responding to my own post lol!. Easy for old guy to ride. Also loved the Luxon 23.5 clamp and finally got my springs right for my weight. Didn’t get to ride as much as I wanted, wife’s birthday and forgot to get her a card and flowers. Had to cut my ride short but still fun.

minton33 Started a new thread Cr125 pwk36 jetting

I ordered a 36mm screw top pwk. So I’ve seen some posts about random years cr jetting with a 38mm pwk. But haven’t seen anything for a 2002 with a 36mm. Being as the stock jetting varies wildly depending on the years I’m curious if anyone with a 2002 has put a pwk on and what jetting/needle ended up with...

Never experienced it but I’ve heard bad reeds can cause hard starting and low rpm issues. Wouldn’t be a bad idea to pull it off and make sure they still seal while the carb is off

If you mean has it been flowing into the engine. if the float was stuck and it was pouring out gas, then yes probably. But it’s pretty rare for a float to just stick and start letting it pour through while just sitting there, as when they stick while sitting they normally stick closed and won’t let fuel through at...

Slapped it together just to get all the parts out of bins. Missing a few parts that are in the mail now. Pipe mounts, pipe to silencer joint, about a dozen bolts. Surprised there wasn’t too much missing after putting it together from some boxes. Realized I was out of staples, so the seat cover has to wait. Good excuse to clean the disaster zone of a shop. I have way too many bikes in here. Went I went to toss the pipe on, it has something rattling around in it. Figured it was probably some dirt or a rock...

I recently finished up my mellow build of a 2000 YZ125, just as I was buttoning that one up, I came across a 2000 YZ250 that was locked up for $900 Canadian pesos. Couldn't really pass that up. The bike overall was in decent shape, and it looks pretty low hour. It has a full front and rear revalve from a local suspension company, which means someone at one point cared enough about it. It was certainly locked up though. I couldn't get it to turn over at all. I doused it in penetrating fluid and finally got it to...

Update: I couldn't help myself so I went out and tinkered some more. Only thing I did different was exercise the pistons waaay further out, poured some brake fluid on them, greased them, then pushed them back in. I took a rag to it all, ensured the clips were in place, put the pads back in, and boom... The wheel spins freely and the brake operates properly. Maybe the piston wasn't free to move back in? Maybe a clip wasn't seated completely? Whatever, it works now lol

+1 on the bolt holes as well as anywhere a bearing or shaft goes. Pita tapping every bolt hole and sanding down bearing/ mating surfaces.
