Great show as a ten year old. I think once they had him riding a Husky enduro bike when he took a “detour” on some trails. Still a great show though. I loved it, thanks for the memories.
I don’t know why the down votes but the Lawrence Bros. still have a ways to go to surpass the Geboers. Doesn’t mean they won’t if they keep doing what they’ve been doing. But they haven’t done it yet. That is undeniable.
IIRC the very first issue of MXA had coverage of a 125 Pro race at Arroyo with some good photos. I want to say maybe June 1973? Unfortunately all my early magazines are long gone, but I’m sure someone can help you out. Good luck, let us know what you find.

I think that would have been Jan Houterman (not sure on the spelling.). He was kind of a legend in NorCal.
Uhh yeah, that’s Don Rickles cutting up with Johnny. Surprised no one has mentioned Jim and Ron Pomeroy. Lots of talented guys on the list for sure. Based on results the Geboers brothers have to take top spot though. Oh and don’t forget the Karsmakers.

“I can't remember who said " You need to go as slow as you can to win" ( or something along that line)“ That was Jeff Smith.
