I just don't frikkin undersand how someone with a failed sound check recieves a championship point penalty (specially when the rider can't do shit about it), meanwhile for constantly ignoring blue flags or riding aggressive and taking out other riders all they get are those stupid licensed penalty points that will never get to 15 anyways within a year. Make it make sense.

Simple...the manufacturers are the ones that have requested the sound limits because they know that at every race there are consumers of their products and the manufacturers want the bikes to look and sound like what they sell...they know that sound is major complaint about off-road motorcycles and if they don't have lower sound emissions then more riding areas/tracks will close and that will negativly affect their sales....common sense really....

I was at Matterley last year. I got tickets early and they worked out to be $139 for the whole weekend. One day tickets purchased early were around $90 (my wife only went for Sunday). Turnout at Matterley was pretty poor IMO in 2024. Ironman sounds like a rip-off for sure (those VIP ticket prices are absurd), but honestly compared to the average Americans disposable income its probably close to a wash ($140 compared to $90 for the 1 day ticket at Matterley). All of my European friends/coworkers tell me things are really tight over there for the average person...

Follow the formula one model, have the riders attend a press pen when they finish, be that after the race or during if they dnf (and are ok) then once they are out of there they are free to do what they want unbothered.

For those that have never been to Newport Beach - The size of the lot alone is incredible. Newport also, while pretentious and snobby, is arguably one the cleanest and safest places in the US, if not the world. All of the issues the get national press for CA fade away (homeless, grafitti, etc) the moment you cross into "Newps".

I feel like most of the "grow the sport" people just want their neighbors to think they're some kind of bad ass because they ride their 350 on the vet track every weekend.

Do a quick google search for met gala pics. Then ask yourself if those are the people you want getting more involved in moto. That crowd is the weirdest of the weird. They have zero interest in getting into moto but probably lots of interest in getting into jet.
