Exactly right! If Tomac wins an overall, he'd be the oldest pro to ever win a motocross overall, let alone a championship. Matthes being skeptical on Tomac being a true "championship contender" has only been proven right so far and he's correct in saying that Tomac is in unchartered territory at this point as far as age and contending for race wins and championships goes. I don't see it as Matthes saying Tomac is washed up at all.

Actually, to me it's just sad to see an otherwise high achiever dismantle himself like that in public.

Was I a professional rider? No. My closest friends have won a lot of titles though and are a good reference point for my knowledge. They tell me if I'm crazy, taking things too far or on the right track. Relationships are an important part of this 'game' and I'm proud to have many valuable ones. I guess these people just look at me and think that I spawned out of nowhere...

To be clear, I had never spoken to either of them. Ping confirmed that when I spoke to him after the pod too. The segment got far too personal, in my opinion, and it was clear they were uneducated on my background. Again, Jorge and I spent two hours talking after that interview where he trusted me with a lot of information. We've known each other for 10 years. We are good.

Yes, Jamie’s time with us will be coming to an end in mid-July. Things change in our gig, budgets, direction, needs, etc. Jamie is a good dude, period. It wasn’t an easy or hastily made decision. He’ll have been with us for just about three years and he’s grown a lot in the profession during that time. I’m excited to see where he goes and continues to grow from here. I’m very confident he will find / build something good for himself. I know there’s plenty of people in our industry and even outside of it looking out for him...

I’m not full on dark nation I listen to his show occasionally but he definitely seems like a genuinely good dude and puts his heart and soul into the sport and it’s very admirable what he has done to make his way up and how he puts up with Steve’s shit. If it’s true vital is letting him go I feel bad for the guy, it’s a terrible feeling when you leave your comfort zone of a stable job for something else and it doesn’t work out. Hope he doesn’t go back to digging ditches in bumfuck Texas

So basically I need a MavTV, FloSports, and Peacock TV subscription to watch all of the motos. DC has taken a glorious sport (American Outdoor MX) and made the presentation FUBAR. One of the most frustrating things is how much Coombs talked up the mav TV partnership like it was an upgrade, when it clearly wasn’t. If there was a little more honesty before the season the masses on vital wouldn’t be out in droves to ring necks. ML can you ask what is the barrier to putting the races on YouTube? I’m with Matthes, I don’t understand why they can’t just put the races up on YouTube. That’s how you get more eyes on the sport, not making people jump through 20 different hoops to watch.
