I read or heard "Hazard Haiden" somewhere and thought that it was pretty fitting.

Not only am I saddened by Deegan's on-track behaviors, I am equally taken aback by the privilege and "doesn't apply to me"/"better than thou" attitude. Him going to other riders' pits to confront them, arguing with the AMA officials, etc. Not OK. He seems to think the world revolves around him, he's coached to respond "just enough" on social media to address controversy but not apologize, it's just ... yuck. He doesn't seem to have genuine care for anyone but himself. I get it's competition, but McGrath, Carmichael, etc., didn't exhibit these types of behaviors ever in my recollection. That's...

Coming from a fan of Coty's, Deegan's pass on Schock wasn't too terrible, considering it was for position and he's supposedly a title contender. Combine it with the rest of his actions last night, however, and Dangerboy lost a LOT of points with me.

The pass on Schock was aggressive, but not dirty. The outcome sucks for Coty but it's hard racing. But let's look at the rest of the 38's night: Poor qualifying, outside gate in the heat, makes a relatively high risk sweep to the inside and tangles with Hammaker. Hissy fit one is pushing Hammaker's bike to the ground, and shoving the track worker. Then he doubles down by going to the PC pits (where Hammaker's mom owns him). I think Haiden Deegan is in for a rough time in the future, because when eventually he moves up to the 450 class, he's going to be racing against a Jett Lawrence that is at the height of his ability and experience. He'll never win a 450 title and become something like the next Vince Friese, where he pulls a lot of BS moves in his desperate attempts to purposely injure and take out his competition, but instead will pancake himself into the hospital. He's really coming off as an entitiled punk who was always given the best of everything...

If you would like to rewatch, I think it’s Bennick and Munoz that go off in front of him. It looks like they were actually pushed off, whereas it does not look Deegan had contact to push him off. Looks more like he just didn’t want to wait. He also clearly accelerates harder than the other two, as evidenced by the roost and fishtailing. I’m sure that’s more of an accurate explanation why the others didn’t get a penalty while Deegan did. I don’t think there’s any kind of anti-Deegan AMA conspiracy…. Rewatching the incident. I cant believe he only lost 2 positions. When I saw it originally. I thought he was pushed off the track and got on the gas hard because he could make up time. Which deserved a penalty for each position gained plus one. So like 5 to 7 positions . Copping 2 for it was a bargain. But he wasn’t pushed off. A rider in front of him had slowed down from the contact with guys punted off the track and rather than stay on the track and lose time because of what happened ahead of him...

Plays his part in causing a start crash in the heat and takes zero responsibility for it. Goes as far as to go and have a go at the guy he took out in the pits. Cuts the track on the first lap rather than wait like everyone else and race fairly. Ends Schock’s season by punting him for 7th place in the last turn. Deegan embarrassed himself tonight, the championship pressure has been applied and he’s wilting. Not totally surprised by this due to his age and status but hopefully he’ll make adjustments.

The difference here is how he acts. If Deegan had done that then went to Schock after and apologized, I wouldn't be too torn up about it, but this was the 2nd time tonight he threw a tantrum at someone. He's acting arrogant and narcissistic and needs to grow up, and until he does he can fuck off. What’s the point difference between 8th and 7th? 1 or 2 points? Punting a guy for that little is kinda lame. I think most people look at shock since the outdoor season he was killing it as the peoples champ. This sucks.

Public High School would have done this kid a few favors. Don’t forget James and Jett were this young with more pressure on them. And yes, I know they were homeschooled. But their parents are top notch people. i respect Brian for a lot of what’s he’s done, but he’s raising a brat.
