Blair fan here. He speaks clearly and speaks quickly. He is a gifted speaker He can complete a coherent thought while the racers hit a corner or 2. Some of the current announcers are still in the C class despite years of experience.

The casual viewer you are talking about doesn't exist, well not much at least... it might be a few % each show, especially now that its behind a paywall. How many new sports do you pay for and watch that you don't have interest in? I know for me its very rare, too much other shows on stuff I do care about. The common talking point amongst the people who put the show together is to simplify it down to make the new person understand it but then you alienate all the hardcore people who do care about the changes...
