Tied for 2nd in the points. Two podiums. He has only finished outside the top 5 twice in 10 races. I predict more podiums coming and probably a win. He started off the season with a hurt foot and a bike that wasn't dialed in/set up to his liking. I think he is only going to get faster and better as the season goes on.

The really positive thing is that he has a 2 year contract. There can be a tendency for some riders to not be as ‘motivated’ until the last year of a contract, but that certainly doesn’t seem to be a problem with Malcolm this year. I could see him winning a main this year, but if he can stay healthy through the Nationals and have similar success, I could see him competing for a title in SX next year.

I understand Mookie Fever can cause a momentary lapse of judgement but I think it’s a bit eager of you to claim he has multiple championships in-bound considering he’s yet to win a 450 main. I do agree that Aldon has got him to where he needed to be physically and he’s finally showing his true potential and I can see him getting a fair main event win. But championships alone are not easy to come by, let alone multiple championships, especially when the rider is getting long in the tooth. I understand this is a Mookie Hype thread and...

I see Electric Bikes as a great supplement/alternative to IC bikes for the foreseeable future. Backyard tracks, indoor facilities, and general R&D for the technology for the future. It's an interesting niche. I love my 2 strokes and you'll have to pry them out of my hands, but I don't feel threatened by a complete e-bike takeover in my lifetime. Even if there was, there will still be the vintage racing, which is all I race anymore anyway.

If you can circulate the track at a reasonable pace no need to black flag. Coop was crawling around and skipping parts of the track. Black flag is a no brainer.

I don’t think we know if sexton wanted to continue and was told he couldn’t, right? But yea if you are riding one handed and skipping a section of track you should be pulled. Amazing most of these guys seemed to escape major injury.

Riding around with one hand and skipping the whoops would not have given him any points. When does the AMA stop worrying about who it is and do their job. Should have been black flagged right away.

Agree. I was at the race and seemed ridiculous. Appreciate him trying to gut it out, but it's a recipe for more trouble + he was rolling off around the whoops as if they were optional

Definitely a head scratcher. If anyone is riding around the whoops multiple laps on a row, they should be black flagged regardless of the situation.

Watching this back my takeway is this: Mookie gapped Tomac and Anderson down the straight into that corner, he was clearly racing ahead of him and his decision to turn down was based entirely on Webb in front of him. No issue there. Eli was coming from the right hand side (realistic position to make the pass clean) and just close enough (within a couple bike lengths) that he was able to legitimately try to get underneath Mookie, but once he realised it wasn't going to happen he started backing off. Then you have Anderson who was 5-6 bike lengths...

Every year around this time I'm pretty much over sx. I love it when it starts but it gets monotonous to me and after about 6 races I'm ready for mx. Not this year at all. Loving the racing this year. The resurgence of Tomac and Ando. The death of the Blue Pig. Fireworks every race. More than any of that, I starting riding again last summer after 10 years off the bike. I think riding again has made me appreciate the insane surgical precision sx takes

2-Strokes....

Almost everything with the move to four strokes was a mistake. Displacement disparities, noise issues and increased costs have kept me a two stroke fan. Racing in SX would be so much better without 450s and no, quad sections aren't justifications why we need 450s.

Based on what DB said on the main event moto podcast, Jett wasn’t even pushing. Apparently he was doing just enough to keep his 3-4 second lead. Not sure how much truth there is to that but he sure did make it look easy.
