Has Anderson thrown this thing away with poor choices?

You could also make the case then that all Mookie did in the left turn was hold the line.

Anderson was the one who overshot the berm and tried to correct back which caused their lines to merge.

Maybe Jason should have seen what was going to happen and backed off? I suspect Eli would have.
Anderson is almost a full bike in front of Mookie when he torpedo in to Anderson. The normal thing would be to let off but you could clearly see that Mookie was willing to sacrifice his own race just to take Anderson out.

Here's another angle... Mookie turning down in to Tomac and Anderson clean. While tight racing in turn 2, it was a bonehead Mookie move to take he and Anderson out of the race. All 3 of them came out of this corner in the top 5 and would have been racing for the win.

A lot of realities where Tomac doesn’t win this race… I don’t know, when he came across that finish line it really did feel like he ascended to being a legend forever.

Anderson had it coming, and Stewart made a HUGE FAN out of me for doing it.

I don't think Ando did anything wrong last night but how aggressive he chooses to ride culminated in last night's situation. He gets into it with every other top racer he's passing. He's the common denominator in every situation. Dunge RV Tomac etc they all managed to win a ton of races and titles without riding like that every damn race. He's exciting to watch. But I sure don't feel bad for him
This.

They're not isolated incidents any longer. But, that's what makes him so fun to watch this year.

Championship far from over. New mantra going forward for the matador El Hombre from New Mexico...

That was a great to pass in turn 2 . So people saying now, even when you don't hit people it's too aggressive . What a load of crap . Mookie lost his head because of last week . Completely destroyed his race . Complete and utter idiot move . He might of won that race last night

A Still shot grab from video doesn't really tell the entire story, 3 seconds later you could throw up a screenshot of Mookie and Eli almost falling over.

If, IF, El Hombre hadn't been treating all the other riders like bumpers in a pinball machine since round 1, This incident in Daytona wouldn't even be an issue. Jason has a few people very upset with him and they are not willing to forget and forgive.

Idk man. Look at barcia, people fear him when he’s near.

I love what Anderson is doing. He makes passes happen. Didn’t we all bitch about dungey never being aggressive enough??? Anderson moves through the pack like a goddamn G. Mookie doesn’t have awareness to anticipate what is going to happen. He almost wrecked musquin last race doing the same cut down shit when he was on the inside.

Good bench racing!!

People are cautious are Bam Bam but nobody considers him a serious threat to win the title. We have never seen Bam Bam in the hunt for the title so we have no idea how much tolerance the riders would get with a title on the line? 51 really has toned it down

We still have 8 rounds left and anything can happen.

You are crazy with this take... look about half a second before this, Anderson is the one basically going backwards on the track, he cuts so far inside to make this move that contact was guaranteed no matter what.

Mookie's fault for cutting down, what a poor take. He's essentially following Webb in this corner, should we start saying Webb caused it?

That’s bullshit right here

Anderson started this fuckery, trying to cut to the inside of 2/3 Mookie and Tomac and almost took out tomac.. this video here shows the full thing… tomac stays up because Stewart was there… sooo this is all Anderson fault from the jump.. personally tomac and Mookie should’ve cleaned him out, but I’m glad Mookie did, because it was a dumb pass attempt on the start.

Watching this back my takeway is this: Mookie gapped Tomac and Anderson down the straight into that corner, he was clearly racing ahead of him and his decision to turn down was based entirely on Webb in front of him. No issue there. Eli was coming from the right hand side (realistic position to make the pass clean) and just close enough (within a couple bike lengths) that he was able to legitimately try to get underneath Mookie, but once he realised it wasn't going to happen he started backing off. Then you have Anderson who was 5-6 bike lengths back going into the turn and he was coming in on the left hand side (unrealistic position to make the pass clean). He clearly made the decision that he was going to make up that distance and the positions by doing what he's been doing all year and carrying too much speed into the corner, cutting under the riders at a ridiculous angle, and using their bikes as a berm. Pause this video right before the camera cuts away from the overhead shot, there's no other way it was going to end, and Ando knew it.

I think last night he got the first serving of what he's owed, lets see if another rider will step up and give him some retribution too. Maybe Kenny? You can't win a title while behaving like you're the only rider on the track that matters.

Gap going into the turn:

Mookie following/racing Webb. Eli setting up for pass attempt. Ando readying torpedo tubes:

Ando's excess speed absorbed by Eli and Mookie:

Another successful torpedo attack:

Did ando even contact them two? So it’s a block pass…

If anything, mookie was coming in way too hot and left a mile on the inside. Look how much space there is. Anderson has a wheel on both of them by the apex of the turn. Totally clean move. Either way, nobody fell and not a big deal.

This screenshot is after the contact had already made by Anderson everything would have been fine and no contact made if Anderson didn’t dive bomb Eli…you can’t just show that screenshot without the one with Anderson dive bombing to the inside as shown in the second photo above…How many times has it been said that if you make enemies on the track in a championship fight they may come back and cost you later…Anderson’s fate in this championship so far has proven that to be true..

As it should be, there's only so much one can stand and then you've to make your point.

It reminded me Tomac taking Webb and himself down in a heat in Daytona 2018 after Webb crossrutted him on purpose twice. It ended costing Tomac the win and I bet he doesn't give a F.

If you only saw the second camera angle, you'd think Mookie cut down in the first 1/4 of the turn.

The first shot shows him much deeper into the corner and he is about to turn down, cutting a bit tighter than Webb.

Would it be a good idea for Mookie to try to open up the corner more so early in the race? Probably.

Would Anderson have made contact with Tomac, and maybe Mookie, if Malcolm had been more conservative? History says 'probably'.

Anderson plays a risky game, by choice. Much of the time it works, sometimes it does not.

Yeah and with the angle that Webb mookie and Eli were on or what people are calling “cut down” that would allow them to triple onto the table.
There is no way Anderson could triple out doing what he was doing, mookie and Eli were racing forward and Anderson was only thinking about that corner.

This take is exactly correct. The whole episode would have been avoided if Jason didn't try to use Eli as a berm.

As I commented last week...at some point, Eli is going to have to 'force' Anderson to stop playing this game.

Maybe Mookie did it for him? I doubt it but we will see.

Im perplexed by the 'turn-down' comments! WTF..

The circuit is 'X' wide and is not segregated in to lanes. Which means a rider can choose any manner or combination of lines he chooses. The rider in front gets to choose first.

The 'turn-down' line is a perfectly normal and acceptable line choice. Always has been, always will.

It’s only because of what Malcom chose to do following turn two that anyone is even talking about this.

Anderson’s inside dive is normal action at the start of a race. Involving different riders and without the retaliation, people would be saying it was a great move.

I can’t believe the attention this incident is getting, no one even went down! So yes Anderson got paid back for his aggressive ways and it cost him dearly, but anyone who says that Malcom’s actions weren’t dumb, are only fooling themselves.

Tomac vs Anderson 2022 looks a bit like Dungey vs Tomac 2017 in my opinion. Solid and mature ride vs risky ride and raw speed.

The dumb is Anderson knowing Malcolm (or any other rider) can use the “turn down” and sticking his nose in there anyway. Repeatedly.

Anderson’s racecraft has been all about the bloody nose given, but Karma’s paying Anderson a visit this year and she’s throwing haymakers.

Anderson made a dive up the inside of Tomac/mookie from too far back.

Malcolm retaliated from that move and the takeout the week prior.

Malcolm also makes poor decisions to cut down when there are riders close behind him.

Don’t know how there’s so many different views on this
