It was "Carla" in 88 that did the beerstop outside the chalet at Namur, Everts tried to do it years later but it just wasn`t the same.

Sorry, forgot i posted in this thread (age get`s the better of me) I think most people would agree every rider that goes to the states does so for a number of reasons, some we will never know but for the most part it`s an accumulation of money, media exposure and lifestyle. Not forgetting that a great deal of youngsters...

You might want to check your facts, the last time pre 1994 the UK won the des nations was 1967 Bickers/Eastwood/Smith. Now if you`re talking European wins since 1981, the last time was in fact 2004 Everts/Strijbos/Ramon and since 1981 European teams have won 9 times.

The sport in the UK was more popular in the 50`s and 60`s for one simple reason, cars were too expensive for the average person but a bike wasn`t, simply meaning if you own a bike you can relate to mx. I see mx going like motogp, one race per class, you`ll have mx1, mx2, a youth race and one...

I think there is a general change in the dominant countries of Europe, gone are Britain, the Scandinavian countries etc etc and you now have a more widespread pool of talent. Obviously at the moment the French are head and shoulders above everybody else, hard to believe until 1986 they had never had a World Champion, also now the Italians...

Back to the original topic and yes we do have very restrictive laws on guns and from my own point of view it`s a good thing, it started in the 80`s with the Hungerford massacre and then Dunblane. Hand guns are banned as are semi and automatic weapons, what have we lost by banning all these weapons? we don`t do...
5. Stewart almost certainly was instructed by DeCoster (and RC) to avoid AT ALL COSTS the kind of ragdoll crash that he was prone to in order to win the TEAM race. But he has admitted since that Everts was quicker that day, " almost certainly " " probably ". Thats a lot of uncertainty from someone so sure.
