"He's probably asking Lance if he allegedly had 1 or 2 shots of EPO that morning???"

So you were completely, totally, 100% wrong in your first post when you accused Americans of "overexaggeration" trying to "inflame the situation". Then you show you don't have the character to admit you were wrong. Then you try to shift the focus from your ridiculous and ignorant mistake by accusing Lance Armstrong, a great American champion, of using performance enhancing drugs.

You sir are a disgusting human being.
I think Rob was just kidding around. Wink

He is a good guy and huge fan of American Moto and also Team USA. Smile
Have you ever seen some of the tribute paintings he has done for/of American riders?

Check out this one of RV.
"For month’s after the 2007 Motocross of Nations at Budds Creek, I had this image in my head I wanted to get down on canvas to capture the fantastic way Ryan Villopoto rode that day. Finally over Christmas 2008 I was able to recreate what I wanted."

Or this one he presented to Decoster.

Fast Eddy, thanks for the support. It was a tonque in cheek joke about Lance & EPO.

Let's face it, the TDF is so damm hard, if those guys are not on PED's, perhaps they should be! I guess when the Floyd Landis case and his accusations are investigated more and the truth is out, I hope it doesn't diminish Lance's reputation and the fantastic effort he has done to bring cancer survival and hope to thousands of people worldwide.
We all need our heroes!

Sadly I'm not able to come out to Lakewood MXDN this year as I am about to complete the sale on my late mum's house around that time.
However two of my paintings of Magoo and Andrew McFarlane, commissioned by Youthstream, will be part of the FIM awards in recognition of their Lifetime Achievements.
Can't wait to show these works to the moto public and here on Vital.
Good luck to Team USA and every country competing. Now us Brits have Dean Wilson in our corner, I seriously think the team could podium with some good fortune!

Every nation has it's share of assholes, USA included. I think that Americans tend to be more rabidly patriotic and jingoistic than other countries, based on what I've seen in my travels. As for the booing of Pourcel at Steel City, it must have been pretty bad, because Davey mentioned it last night at the banquet and even felt the need to apologize to Pourcel on behalf of real American fans.

I didn't see any Honda team members rejoicing over Pourcel crashing. In fact I was watching the live feed with Trey's mother when Trey crashed just after passing CP, and she was crushed, but held up well, considering. When Pourcel was shown sitting there a few minutes later you could tell she felt badly for him. I told her "Congratulations, but I know that's not how Trey wanted to win it", and she said thanks and we talked a little about it.

Many of you are so wrapped up in your isolationist views that you forget things, like the fact that Mitch does the motor mods for the Geico team, also. I hung out at the Pro Circuit rig for a bit between motos, talking to Rattray and EJ, and Mitch was clearly bummed, as he should be. I also hung out at the Geico Honda rig for a bit, and there was no celebrating going on of any kind. It seemed like most of the focus was on getting Wharton's bike rideable and on how he was doing. Business as usual.

I hope no American fans do anything too embarrassing at the MXoN and I hope the announcing team can keep their obvious preference to a minimum...chanting "USA, USA" by the announcer is inappropriate, in my opinion.
Word.

The only thing we can do is to point out for the rotten apples they are not appreciated. I remember a Italian fan flipping Pichon? Or was it a french retard flipping Cairoli, it was showed lived on the telly. Anyway I was so chocked that a guy that likes moto would do such a thing?

That german? (not Dutch it seems) spitting at Armstrong seriously needs to be hit down on the ground. I don't like violence, but I would actually enjoy seeing him suffer some!

Talk about madness, I saw a crowd in Pakistan where women and policemen where visible in the audience had one of these splendid humans beating two kids to death because some muppet claimed these kids just robbed a bank. When they later examined their bags (the kids where laying on the ground dying) they found sports clothing. Turned out these kids where innocent and where just going to their soccer practice.

So I guess boing, flipping and even spitting is better...

Thanks for the moderation Fast Eddy. I take back that comment about Rob. One episode or misunderstanding does not a whole person make, obviously, and he seems like a good one.

Man, I so badly wanted to say something like this, but didn't want to start a total shit storm. Its easy to watch youtube videos and see Americans as a bunch 8th grade drop outs that don't know the capital of their home state....... but believe it or not some of us actually are educated and understand what work a ethic is.

Just when you think guys like Bob Hannah and Mark Barnett don't exist anymore two guys named Ryan Dungey and Trey Canard come along.

.....many of us in this country understand world history and understand how lucky we are to live to live in this country.

The next time any of you Euro's want to talk about what a joke America is just be glad that someone stopped Hitler.....and it wasn't you.

No problem Pilotdude, were all good. Sorry if I hit a raw nerve with the joke about Lance.
Moto forums should be like a local pub and have a sign above the bar "no politics or religion spoken here!"

I'll preview the NEW paintings on here, as soon as I get the okay from Youthstream, who commissioned them.

Not speaking another language is ignorance not stupidity. All those countries speak 'American' if there is enough of the bejammins. As far as cheering when a rider crashes it happens when loyalty isn't with that contestant. While I may cheer when they hit the deck I cheer just as loud when they get back up.

Wasn't you either, (or me for that matter)
Know your audience before using that argument. You'd have to be around 80 years old to have had anything to do with WW2.

Remember, it was an allied force of Americans, British, Scottish, Irish, Welch, French, Austrailian, Canadian, and other forces that ultimately won that one.

Not sure why you are so determined that booing or cheering is necessarily a nationality thing. I watched most of Southwick cheering for Metcalfe keeping Dungey off, and were bummed when he ran out of gas. There were plenty of fans waving t-shirts and cheering as he cut through the field after his second moto crash.

Keep your generalizing to yourself homie.

I know the history of the war. Have read many books about it...........You need to do a little more reading if you think the allies, minus America could have handled Hitler as well as the Japanese.

And no, I didn't fight in the war, but most of us in this country have family that did.

Hell, isn't it Spain where they used to close everything down mid day and take a nap?

There are many people in this country that simply get shit done.......at whatever cost. You don't see that in some other places of the world.

Colorado will be invaded by most of Europe in a few weeks and it will be up to Dungey, Canard and Short to "...get 'er done..."

Hey this WWII thing is lame, Adolf loved Sweden because of all the blonds and stuff, I'm sure we would have been the breeders of Europe or something. Sure violated in every other way, but I would probably be in a stable with ten hot blonds chicks and creating some hundred arians every 9 months.

So tnx alot! Smile

Hey JB19 guess what. Former Marine officer here. Father was one also. My oldest uncle was a platoon sergeant and silver star winner who was killed on Iwo Jima--about which I wrote a 23 page paper during my senior year in college--while getting a minor in history, which also entailed taking an entire year of U.S. military history. This, of course does not include the 6 months I spent in the USMC Basic Officer Course or the 3 months in Officer Candidate School etc, etc. etc.

But hey, I hear you've read many books about the war.

I did not say that the allies could have handled Hitler without the U.S. Look above. What I said was ultimately it was an allied effort that won the war, which it was. That fact does not diminish the U.S. contribution, nor did I say that it did.
