That sounds like some good starting points for you. Make sure you check the float height also to 8 - 9mm. From the manual, your bike has the S-1: To Remove the needle-Jet, remove slide assembly, remove carb from bike, remove float bowl and float, remove main jet, and then remove the 8mm brass nut under main jet (Main jet holder). The needle-Jet is behind that. If it does not fall out the bottom easy, use a tool and push down gently from the top of the carb and it should fall out. When you have all this apart, you...

First page has good base settings. Running 32:1 will lean it out as well as the type of fuel will be a bit leaner because of how it burns. You might want to try it and and see how it runs and maybe go back to 40:1 to richen it back up.

Hello , i'm confused about the squish clearence . The OEM diagram shows differents thickness of base gaskets. I know that people use those sizes to get the desired squish (always between 0.9/1.4mm) . I have a few questions to fully understand this The squish clearence depeneds on the rider needs like more Bottom end, avoid detonation? Or there is...

Here is a post from KTMTalk I did recently about my experience so far. No, I haven't filed needle yet. Not sure it could get any better but I do have an extra laying around so might try at some point- So we have a bit more time on ours now plus I finally pried the boys off of it long enough to ride myself. Holy crap is all I can say! The amount of power the STIC adds is hard to explain to people. I did end up playing with the PV settings to get a bit smoother delivery...

You shouldn’t need 7 as the seals will come with the bearings. The schematics for the OEM parts on RMATV is great, go through all the engine diagrams and add each bearing you see in the bottom end to your cart. If you hover your mouse over the callout number on the schematic, RMATV will populate a window to add to your cart with the recommended quantity for the drawing. Usually Honda OEM parts are pretty fair, so I would just buy those instead of trying to hunt down a kit of lesser quality. Pro-X is good stuff, I’d avoid...

I'd say a250f with a button is probably an easier bike to ride for a beginner, but you say you love 2 strokes, you know the basics and ride a motorcycle almost everyday, and it sounds like you want the YZ250 ? I agree with both sides, yes if you whisky throttle it in a low gear it will be a lot to handle, but you know that going in and you sound educated about bikes, (you mentioned a flywheel weight so you know about bikes in general and have a clue about powerbands and power delivery) plus you're 30...

A beginner can learn to ride on a 250 2T, find a turn track, ride in a higher gear at low revs to tame the power, and take your time focusing on braking while standing and body position while cornering. As you improve use higher revs. Once you've mastered those techniques, start attempting small jumps, again start with a higher gear, low revs, focus on adjusting the bike's attitude in the air with your body, the throttle and the rear brake. Take your time, start small, don't attempt the big quad on your first day!
