Weather got a little cooler here and i used a 50 pilot and CCL needle 3rd clip with a 185 main. Ran really good!! But plug looked alittle lean temps are 58-80
Any ideas maybe a bigger main or go 4th clip

Unless you're riding in heavy sand, I would say that 185 main is safe. You can try moving the clip down to the 4th clip position and try that, but honestly, I'm not a plug reading type of tuner. There's just too much variation in the fuel.
Do you think this setup is better than your Mikuni setup?

Did you change the intake flange to the 2016 version (last time KTM used a Keihin) or reuse the 2022?

Used the 22 stock part, fits good.

There is some deep sand on the track but not everywhere. 92 non ethanol fuel. Bike ran really strong and instant throttle input everywhere! Was just concerned about about it being lean. So basically if it’s not knocking or pinging it’s good? So this needle will be good down to 58-60 also? Thanks again for the help!!

That needle should get you down into that temp range. Also, that 185 main should be plenty safe. These bikes are very close to detonating right off the show room floor. Just a little bit of bad gas will cause it to detonate. Ideally you should be running a mixture that puts you over 95 octane, to be on the safe side. What I would be worried about, is if the engine bogs in that 3/4 throttle range.

I bet 95% of the people using those bikes would benefit from using the Keihin setup over the Mikuni.

The stock (22') intake flange/boot will work just fine.

The bike never bogged anywhere, from idle to wide open. Runs so good! For the lower temps just drop the clip 4-5 if needed? I’ll try to find some higher octane fuel. The plug being white had me a little freaked out and confused!!

That's great. Depending on the temps, you may very well need to drop the needle clip position, or possibly go to a richer starting diameter.

Maybe CCK needle if I’m on the 5th clip, sorry for all the questions just trying to learn. I gotta say the jetting you have given me is so so good. Once i figure all this out I’ll know what to do and won’t have to bug you so much haha! I appreciate the help!!

I'd be going to the CCK before going to the 5th clip. If the idle starts to hang, you'll know its time to switch to the richer needle.
It's ok, I don't mind talking about this stuff. I'll respond when I can.

Digger, i should have asked you this along time ago. What are the temp ranges for the CCM, CCL and CCK needles. That would help me out a lot to know what those temp ranges for each needle if that’s possible.

I can’t give you a specific temp range for each needle. I’ll usually wait for a hanging idle, or worst case scenario, a bog, but you’ll usually know it’s time to make a change before that happens.

That makes sense, i know what a hanging idle is like since i forgot to turn my gas on 🤦‍♂️ Again thank you!
Got some 110 fuel and mixing 3gallons of 92 and 2 gallons of 110 so that should keep the detonation away.

Alright i just got the CCK needle and temps here just dropped a lot 30-55 degrees. So I’m thinking 52 pilot needle on the 3 or 4 188 main sound like a good starting point? Got some 110 fuel mixed it with 3.5 gallons of 92 and 1.5 of 110 which puts it around 96-97 octane to keep the detonation away.

What you have listed, is what I would consider a good starting point for those temps. Start off in the #3 clip position and go from there.

Mixing the gas the way i did shouldn’t change the jetting much right? Thank you Digger!!

Digger, you think these same settings are good for MX?  I'm thinking of trying a PWK-AG on a 2023 GasGas MC125.

Yes, for sure you can.  They have a much better hit into the middle and don’t seem to fall off as fast as most of the triple taper needles I was testing.

I use it for mx and trails and it’s really good! Just seems to pull forever! You will be super happy with it!

Revive the thread with some doubts NOZXX needle vs CCL type needle

150sx 2012 Keihin

Sea level 40:1 50°F

This bike comes with NOZ1 needle , do You recommend go for the CCL/CCM needles or keep the NOZXX type needle. .

Maybe

Main 185 (195 For sand )

Pilot 45 Pilot

Needles CCM 3er clip +60° and CCL 3er clip for colder temps. (CCK for sand ?)

Thanks digger,  always learning a lot about jetting
