Back in 85, Donny Schmit started to load his bike in the starting gate backwards while competing in the Expert classes in D23 against many strong riders. Gate would drop and he’d take his time. A few times it would take him until the second lap to take over the lead. I honestly believe the level Jett is riding now that he could start backwards and get to the front. Probably wouldnt be the best image for the sport. Jett makes passing look so effortless too. So, Im still rooting for anyone other than Jett to win a moto.

I think he sees things others don't and then processes them faster in his brain than others do and rattlesnake like reflexes. He just acts almost instantaneously. I also don't think he locks into his lines like others do. It's almost freakish. Like the Steph Curry comment, maybe it can't be explained or even understood by us.

I’m slower than average rider and the linear, smooth power delivery and predictable handling of my 2017.5 KTM 450 is perfect for me. I took a 2025 YZ 450 for a ride a few days ago. It’s an impressive machine with a very different feel than my bike. The suspension was great. It was valved and sprung perfectly for me so that helped. Much plusher than the KTM (my suspension is stock, but from a 2021). I mostly ride a sand track and find I need 150 psi in the fork to get the hold up I want, but then...

It’s time to slow the fucking bikes down. I get it some old schooler will be along to call me a pussy but the bikes have far outran protection. A full mod 250f is far more bike than a 250 2 stroke was back in the day. Not to mention 450s. This is devastating news. The exact reason neither of my kids will ride. Injuries are one thing.
