Goofball1205 Added a reply to New Gaerne boots
3/28/2023 9:06am I’ve had multiple pair and don’t recall any of them rusting. But I do agree the welted sole albeit replaceable and durable is outdated. I’ve had multiple boots and all of the uppers have worn out before the sole. I don’t like the added length as I already wear larger boots or the ridge it creates as I feel it’s...

Goofball1205 Started a new thread New Gaerne boots
3/28/2023 8:58am update: looks like they will be officially revealed tomorrow. https://www.instagram.com/p/CqVpWG4t8tL/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= Gaerne is releasing new boots. the SG-22's. My local shop showed me something a week ago but this is the first I've seen of it posted publicly on an italian site. They look.....different. It will be interesting to see if this boot is targeted as a replacement to the SG-12...

Luxon MX Liked a reply to forum topic Garret’s bars..
3/10/2022 7:56am The bars did not break, it was the titanium bolts that hold the bar mounts to the clamps that broke when Garrett crashed. It was a freak incident and the bars hit the ground with all the weight of the bike and rider putting all the load into the bar mount bolts at just the right angle, which over-tensioned the bolts. Garrett runs solid aluminum cones instead of rubber, plus a 4mm bar riser, which puts a lot more load through the bolts than a standard setup (rubber cones and no riser). That, combined with the bike hitting just right...

Goofball1205 Added a reply to Florida Sand Track?
2/5/2022 10:49pm Sandlot offroad park has the deepest sand I've ridden in Florida at a track definitely run a scoop tire like MX12, 74mx has a little firmer base sand both in Punta Gorda about 5 miles apart on the same road. Orlando MX is sand also. Motobros okechobee looks pretty sandy on the helmet cams I've seen but I haven't ever...
Goofball1205 Added a reply to Moto 10 vs Moto 9 Flex. Who's worn both?
11/1/2021 6:56pm How was the sizing between the two? I have moto-9 flex's and my head measurement is just barely over the line for a large helmet from medium but I wear a small because I hate my helmets moving on my head. Im curious if the fit would be the same in the 10 or if I need to go up...

Goofball1205 Added a reply to Fractured T8 and T9. Would you keep riding?
3/7/2021 3:17pm I compression fractured my T8 when I was 25 I think. I was 6'1" and now I'm 6'. As mentioned before I wouldn't make any decisions now. Took me quite a while to recover and feel semi normal again. Staying active and working out is the only way to keep me pain free now. I suppose that's a positive and...
Goofball1205 Added a reply to Motostuff Works Caliper
12/31/2020 11:09pm I worked on my front brake setup over the last year. I started with a brembo master cylinder suggested by keefer testing. I honestly wasn't a fan of it. It still felt squishy to me. I upgraded to a 2006 yz250 caliper with the 27mm pistons up from the stock 22.5mm pistons. It gave me the power I was looking...
Goofball1205 Added a reply to Fork bleeders
11/28/2020 6:52pm I ran those for awhile but as others have said they always leaked oil when bleeding forks. Someone suggested the system tech racing bleeders. I've run them for 15+ hours so far and haven't had a drop of oil come out of them. They do advertise having a triple seal and seem to be a better design. https://www.systemtechracing.com/Speed_Bleed_Button_p/10-01.htm
Goofball1205 Added a reply to Northern Florida Winter Training
9/9/2020 1:51am I go down every winter several times. County line is awesome. Monster mountain is good, I also like Millcreek which is not far away from monster. I normally stop at one of those two on the way down. Then hit county line before heading to Tampa. I Ride a lot at Bartow MX I just really like the flow of...
Goofball1205 Added a reply to Backyard track builders
6/25/2020 9:14pm In response to ripping a track I use a spring harrow like the one previously pictured with a c tooth spring drag chained to it. it helps spread the dirt out better and also eliminates/fills in the deep channels left by the harrow that can really grab small front tires. I've even had some sketchy moments on my 250 from...
Goofball1205 Added a reply to Backyard track builders
6/25/2020 9:11pm Something you may want to consider before getting carried away and to keep in mind for a budget would be a way to water your track. I built a water truck to do mine. its about a 1/4 mile from the pond I draw from and is just under a mile long winding through 15 acres.
Goofball1205 Added a reply to Backyard track builders
6/22/2020 10:22pm I would suggest renting a dozer to build the track and use a tractor to maintain it. I rented a Cat D5 to build mine and then maintain it with a 1970's 75hp international tractor with loader. It works out really well.
Goofball1205 Added a reply to You're the first on the scene of an amateur racing accident what do you do?
6/20/2020 9:08pm My Old TLD SE2 helmets came with that under the visor. I always meant to put a sticker under my newer helmet visors with that information but always forget.
Goofball1205 Added a reply to You're the first on the scene of an amateur racing accident what do you do?
6/20/2020 3:26pm I used to do firearms instruction through the NRA and eventually through some good people got hooked up with Dark Angel Medical for some trauma training. I would strongly suggest everyone take some sort of legitimate trauma training and carry a true trauma kit with a tourniquet . As was explained to me and something I echoed to all of...

MotoTribology Liked a reply to forum topic false advertising for engine oils
5/11/2020 9:01am That 25%-50% is solvent. It is a necessary component for oils meant for injection systems. All oils designed for use in 2-stroke oil injection systems utilize solvents at certain levels depending on the rest of the formula. If it weren't present, the high viscosity of the oil would prevent adequate delivery and the engine would be starved for oil. The solvents may also have some cleaning/deposit reduction properties, though the viscosity modification is the big effect. Synthetic solvents exist but their compatibility with the fuel system at large and oil components may be troublesome, they would be exorbitantly more expensive...

Goofball1205 Added a reply to 2019 YZ250F What's the fix for the stretched throttle cable?
4/19/2020 3:57pm You cannot unthread and install a jam nut. It will not clear the swaged end that installs in the throttle body. I wonder if you could use a 2018 cable. maybe switch the throttle body boot.
Goofball1205 Added a reply to Broken Talus??
4/17/2020 7:16pm I broke my left Talus last September overshooting a jump. It was a taller neck fracture and required surgery. ER docs missed it and thought I had a bad sprain. They were discharging me when the Ortho team came down to demand they do a CT scan on me. They found the broken and displaced Talus. I had surgery 1...
