Update: It has been 5 weeks since the accident, and Jake remains in the rehabilitation inpatient program at Baylor University. With just 10 days left in the hospital, the medical team is preparing to transition him to an outpatient care program. Encouragingly, Jake is actively participating in a medical study, and recently both the nurse and doctor noted some movement in his knee and calf. While these movements may be subtle and Jake may not feel them significantly, they brought a huge smile to my face and made my last month.
