FFDan Added a reply to Sag - Is close good enough?

6/22/2023 8:21am
Get it to the race sag number or as close as possible. The static sag tells you one thing only and that is do you have the appropriate rated spring. The race sag is obviously how the bike reacts while riding. With the type of riding you are doing and a goal of dropping a few pounds, id just leave...

No comment on the elevation, however - I came off an ’18 KTM 450 to a ‘21 350 and basically kicked myself that I never bought one earlier. Awesome all round bike and I’ve never felt or even considered that it may be underpowered.

FFDan Added a reply to Would you run this air filter?

6/19/2023 7:32am
Im borderline obsessive with air filter maintenance. Ive changed air filters between motos before when dry and lots of dust. If that was my filter and I went through the not so much trouble to remove to look at it, id change it. I see your New Jersey and Ive used 2 filters at FOD on a race day when...
So first thing is our weight is obvious different and probably more importantly, Im not a hit the triple guy, too old for that. You also hit on another thing I didnt and thats the forks in the triple clamps, If I rode in sand, mostly, yeah Id definitely run the forks low in the clamps. However, I havent changed...
Hawk, well I weigh more than you and im 51 years old. I weigh 200 on a good day and I race C class. So obviously our settings will be much different especially if you are a send it type of guy, im not. Im too old to be breaking bones and pulling muscles, lol. I can understand why some...

I have a KTM 350SXF and I bought my 16 year old a 22 TC 125 last year. I normally race my 350, but every once in awhile I race my kids 125. This 125, just like the rest of the Husqvarna MX bikes are lowered 10mm and on the track I dont really notice, except it corners a tad...
My findings with my 22 SXF 350 with the air forks and shock. I live in Pennsylvania, so our tracks are loamy clay with deep ruts. One track we race is in south Jersey which is the closest we get to a sand track and that probably doesnt compare to the sand you run in. But I make fairly significant...

Dang I have 125 hours on my 350 never even checked the valves. I agree, if you have the bike apart, might as well take care of that wear on cylinder and piston.

Its not a track issue, its a property and development thing. Outsiders want the property that the complex sits on.

I live near Pagoda MX in PA and we help Etown and FOD during some of their races and when D6 races there. Rich from Etown was saying outsiders want that whole Etown property bad.

If youre willing to drive 3-4 hours you have a dozen tracks to choose from. Englishtown NJ will be the closest, but Im hearing that track is close to closing Field of Dreams Millville NJ Walden MX NY Pagoda MC PA Dutchmen MX PA Sleepy Hollow MX PA Doublin Gap MX PA MX 23 PA Happy Ramblers MX PA Budds...
So many variables in this question. My kids and I only race MX in Pennsylvania. Tracks start off deep and loamy, many days by day end they get deep ruts and hard pack on straights. A mid soft tire rear wont last more than 15 hours but a mid hard could last up to 25-30 hours. My sons KTM 85...

I have 2 boys, 13 and 15 years old. We all race and the kids have been racing since 5 years old. Ive preached since day 1; this is for fun, this is a hobby, and unless your going to Lorettas on a 50 or 65 thats all it will ever be, a hobby. Sure, there have been exceptions to...

By the pic, I don’t think your forks are aligned. The none brake side looks like the fork clamp is too far out. That will give you play like you mentioned for sure.

I’ve been using VP T2 and T4 for 10 years. In my opinion, the VP fuels has a nice throttle response and especially in the 2 strokes my kids bikes run so much better. Best way to describe is a crisper snappier engine in the 65s and 85s. I think the T4 is worth the price to know I’m running...

Yeah mine were very tight too, to the point I thought they may bind up the forks and not give me an accurate picture. Definitely not loose and much tighter than any zip tie I’ve ever used.

I picked up the same bike a couple weeks ago. I only have almost 3 hours on the engine. However, yesterday I had a great day of testing on a groomed track and this is what I found so far. I should mention I am a vet racer MX only, 50 years old. I am 5'11" 198 pounds. I race...

Ive been racing for years, I have 2 boys that started on 50s 10 years ago and still racing, 85s now. Ive used WD40 Lithium since for years on race day and regular WD40 after washing. I dont use WD40 because im too cheap to buy the "good stuff", but rather its it doesnt collect dirt or fly off like...

I agree with most on here that say to tear it down and rebuild it. 2 stroke rebuild is about as simple as it gets. Youtube is a great reference along with your owners manual. The tools needed will be a couple screw drivers, a pliers, and a mm socket set. Im guessing most on here will even give you...

Lucas, You said your sag was 103, but what is your static sag? You, like me, are a bigger guy riding, you said you are 220 pounds without gear. I was about that when i bought my KX450 and I had to go to a stiffer spring right away. You have to start with the correct spring rate. Then you...
