Funny that you name 7075 T6. T6 Means stress relieved or artificially aged. This means heat treatment! 6000 and 7000 series pretty much all need heat treatment after welding because material strength degrades after welding. If you want this strength back you need to heat treat the material. This is also the case with ChroMoly steel! There are some aluminium...

Erick Started a new thread Simple Cotter Pin Question

I got a simple question: Why is the cotter pin on the pointed upwards instead of the flanged side of the footpeg pin? I would turn it around so the footpeg pin wouldn't fall out in case your cotter pin fails. Why would they do it like this?

And leaverage provides most of the braking power (a little braking power comes from the surface covered of the brakepad by one disc rotation) You need to have some thinkness of the disc for the heat to dissapate in, like you said. My very limited experience with brembo...

They do, I did the same on my Suzuki RM (because is used a KTM throttle) and it works fine. You can use a shorter throttle cable this way (less friction, and cheaper). You don't actually notice the friction but you get the point. Anyway I think the KTM is BUTTUGLY Tongue The 2007 to 2010 look lightyears better if...

Okay, I think you should try to make your own frame. Thats pretty challenging. You could purchase the books "The Racing Motorcycle: a technical guide for constructors, John Bradley vol 1 & 2". I have these books in my possesion and they are very informative about bike building Smile
