Die cast cases instead of sand cast, a pankl motorsports connecting rod, steel clutch basket. Looks a lot more compact than the old engine.

Alessi will be on the 450. Short on the 350, unfortunately, IMO.

x2!!! i cant understand why on earth you would want to purposely give yourself a 100cc disadvantage. im sure there are some advantages to the 350 but on the big long fast national track i dont see that coming into play...you can read all about the new ktm engine on mxa's website the thing is real neat lots of inovative stuff.

Maybe Short is thinking future employment since the 350 is the bike their pushing. Ride that one the best you can.

It's annoying how stupid some people are, its just the same thing over and over. There are way more things in the 350s favor in that arguement, a world championship on that very bike (yes it's diefferent to AMA rules, but so it every other AMA riders bike), villopoto dominating a load of world class 450s with a whole 200cc's less and mike alessi the main rider in the firing line of the whole 350 arguement winning his 1st time out on it

It indeed is the new EXC motor, remember that the EXC motor is from 2007 or 2008 I believe. Since the last SX450 is from 2007 it could be that there will be more new motors coming from KTM very soon.

Maybe even two strokes with fuel injection Smile
