Good point you have there. I think you hit the nail on that one. What should be added is that in the world of amateur motocross (which about 99,5% of all riders are) there are very few who can ride a 450 to it's full potentional and are (arguably) better of with a 350. I am not saying it is...

@Premixed Amen, well said @Rmpilot I think it is for weight reduction and looks. Because the metal at those points is less stressed when subjected to bending. The same you see in some steel roof constructions

I agree, the more brands the better. I think the Gasgas is butt ugly, but it sure has some nice ideas put in which makes it very interesting Smile

Some people lack intellectual skill. So when you try to start a proper discussion they will feel insulted and then say you are a communist. People fear what they don't understand. And you cannot escape the stupidity of some vitalMX members Tongue

Spain has a long history in bike building. Montesa, Ossa and Derbi to name a few. Anyway have you got any good arguments to back up your statement? I am dying to hear your engineering concepts and ideas for a better bike Wink Anyway, some more pictures. Notice the plastic subframe and the strange fuel tank Smile I wonder what...

Did you recall a particular German called Ken Roczen lead for a while on a 250cc bike last MXDN.... ? I expect USA to win, but I hope Herlings and Roczen can give them a spanking similar to the famous Mr. Everts. I think this was epic, the last true race of his live. To bad Ricky Carmichael wasn't there...
First of all, thank you for your informative response Smile I am a fan of your work and very interested in the technical aspect as I am an engineering student at the TU/e So how does the frame respond when the engine is mounted? It must have a big impact of the frame ridgidity. Have you analysed this too? It...

Erick Added a reply to New Electric MX: BRD Redshift

Thats not true. When you have a eletric motor you can get torque by wire control. This means 50% throttle equals 50% torque. Your right wrist is your traction control. I once have ridden an electric bike and it feels awesome. Very much four stroke like but then even better. And electric dirtbike is exactly what the sport needs. Quiet...
Congratulations with the work you have done this far. I am very impressed with the professionalism of your work. I have a few engineering related questions: - Did you design the steering geometry (wheelbase, trail, swingarm length, swingarm location, fork offset and head angle) to replicate in someway the steering geometry of the original model? If not, on what data...
You can do it yourself, if you have the knowledge and tooling ($$$). What do you want to be cast? What material? How big? What are your tolerances? If it is moto related you should post it here. I would like to elaborate

Well, the castings are propably sand cast. With sand casting you get the same signature as sand. When you use coarse sand the texture will also be coarse. Since sand casting is pretty economical for low production units it is a suitable method for a prototype. If they plan to produce the frame in higher number you could consider a...
