I was looking for pictures of 1998 - 1999 RM250 factory bikes for ages :D
Here's one I shot my self when he was racing Dutch Nationals while on the Venko/JHK Honda team.
In regards to the 1993 pics, I still have that season on VHS including the special at Foxhill. Greg was a privateer that year and even when he won the title Honda STILL wouldn't step up with worthy support for 1994. Hence as I understand it - his move to Suzuki.
Honda US had a contract with him and said they didn't want to pay a guy in America when he was already winning for them in the World Championship. Here is a quote from an interview I did with Greg in 2007. " I was negotiating with Honda at the end of 93 to go to the US, then at the eleventh hour, when I was about to sign a deal with them, Honda Japan decided they didn't want to pay me to race in the US when I was winning for them in GPs, it would have been a lot different if I had went to the US riding a Honda."
Re: his Suzukis he said "the bikes were terrible, the (95) was not a supercross bike, in 96 they came out with a new bike, but it was so bad and a lot of my injuries came from trying to over compensate for the bike. A lot of guys would have been content with fifth, sixth, seventh but I always wanted to win."
He also said he was at his best in 1993, he was so dominant that year, an incredible rider.
Albertyn is a legend, one of the best of his generation, and maybe the nicest guy in the sport.
When Honda refused to back up his team when Albee won the title, Jan de Groot switched to Kawasaki's where he won world championships with Tortelli, Everts and many more.
