I think GasGas wold sell more bikes if they changed their name. I'd get rid of that kickstand, kill the headlight, pull some of the creases out of that plastic, put some FI on that 2 stroke and change my name to Kicking Gas! Thats what I would do.

Heh heh, GasGas is a fine machine. Very fine. I put it along with the KTM above the Japanese bikes for 2-stroke woods bikes.

Not now, but until some years ago, gasgas produced MX bikes, which shared the same base as the enduro bikes but adapted to mx, I never got to ride them but magazine test said that the where almost at the same level as the Japanese, specially the 125 since it had a strong motor, and as TM, you could buy them with Ohlins suspensions (forks, because shocks allways where Ohlins). I can be mistaken but I think its design was a copy of the yamaha engine.

i own one.....its the mc250...from 2004
the motocross version has a reenforced frame and a 4 gear box, the ohlins suspension and the engine is home made but by a yamaha project, some yamaha parts will fit, but just cost more...!!!!!!
i ride a lot more woods with it then track, so i changed the cdi box to the one from the ec300, more low end and more round power curve. with that gear box it has a wide ratio and is a lot easyer on the technical spots.......
its kind of getting old by now but i really like it and one of the least expensive bikes to maintain that i know of.........

Ummmm, theres way, way more people in the world who want a kickstand and ride offroad than C/B class, local-yocal, wannabe MX weekend warriors in the USA who think they are 'kore' because they have no kickstand.

Paint the frame back and they're onto a winner. I raced a couple of GasGas's over the years, an absolutely bulletproof older 200, it seemed impossible to kill the engine, although everything else fell off. Then an '07 125 which was the complete opposite, everything was great apart from the most unreliable engine imaginable. When it was on though it was a rocket, really great suspension for the trees, and great little engine. Never really stacked up on the MX track though.

And yeah, Yamaha rods, Honda rings, a bunch of others that can be transplanted means it's not hard to get hold of parts. They seem to be more reliable as well than the standard.

There's a lot of Orange haters around here, good that there are some very competitive other brands to choose from for the woods.

Spain has a long history in bike building. Montesa, Ossa and Derbi to name a few. Anyway have you got any good arguments to back up your statement? I am dying to hear your engineering concepts and ideas for a better bike Wink

Anyway, some more pictures. Notice the plastic subframe and the strange fuel tank Smile I wonder what the inside of the airbox looks like.

what new tech have the japs introduced to off road racing , in recent years ? Alot of the guys racing GNCC, and other series, are using older , converted 2t bikes, for their efforts ... or buying Husky, GasGas,KTM, etc. Thank God for the aftermarket, too !

DI is coming ... so is happiness !

Even more than rider fanboizism

I dont get bike manufacturer fanboiz!

The more dirt bike brands the better. yes or no?

Unless they pay me I'm bike hoe,

I'll ride anything anytime anywhere
