Take a class at the local college, you design your own shirts and print them up yourself. My son does that with a couple of his friends. The shirts are only a couple bucks through the school, and you do all the labor.

@308, this took around 15hrs to complete. I have been using illustrator since mid September definitively a learning experience. But the 6 years of working with CAD programs have helped in the transition.
