2 quick thoughts, I’ve been welding a long time. that would absolutely give me a cause for concern but you also don’t know how the parts were fit up. Either way, you’re looking at a portion of the weld that was a little colder than it needed to be (don’t ask why). at 7 hours I’d be looping the dealer in just for clarity. The amount of CYA that goes down as soon as Yamaha gets involved is insane, I speak from experience. Document everything.

There’s multiple dealers selling them for 7-8 out the door. To pay 8500 from a private party is out there. If you change your mind let us know.

Letters always facing up on rings as noted. Wouldn’t hurt to check ring end gap …make sure you seat the wrist pin circlips, I like to take a scribe after they are installed & push them within the groove to make sure they are all the way in…. Here is a photo of my friends KX125 piston, he states he had the circlips in the grooves, but I think he should have waited to smoke his weed until after the rebuild😂… make sure base gasket surface is clean, apply some grease or premix oil to dowl pins. Inspect reeds, install...

Ok. I’ve often wonder what the “IT” marks mean but I could only guess. I do know Honda usually had an “N” to denote the top side of the ring. The most important thing is to put the “IT” mark facing upwards both rings.

Kenny’s dad’s interview on the ‘problems with Honda’ would suggest he was happy to be rid of Honda. complete opposite of “throwing it away”.

I don't know what it is. But that NEEDS to be the last time he gets anything worse than 4th. How do you go "Win, 6th, and then Win, 8th"? Whatever it is, It has to stop.
