He had a better finish last night. His flashes of speed from the last few years seems to be gone though. He doesn’t look like the same rider anymore.
Obviously he’s had injuries his whole career. So no knock on him. He’s awesome and good dude.
Just wondering if he will ever win a 450 SX main event. Or are those days gone and it’s time to reset the expectations on what he can do at this stage in his career. Top 5 seems like a goal. Podium if the stars align.
Just based on what we have seen this year so far, it seems the possibility of winning an actual main event is really starting to fade.
No
It's hard to see it happening with his current results.
If he can get there mentally, I think he has the talent and speed it takes to win. I'm just not sure he can get there anymore.
I think he can, needs to stay healthy for a season to get that confidence back… dude has the speed
I would love to see him win one. He has the speed, but he can't seem to keep it up for a whole race.

absolutely! I think he's a definite contender if he could get a good off-season in.
Sadly feels like he becomes the next Dean Wilson..fast and likable, but will gradually fall back in the pack without a win.
Wish this hadn’t happened to Dean and hope it doesn’t happen to AC…
He is on a rebuilding process. Watch his latest interviews where he talks about his struggles, he needs time without injuries to get back some confidence. I'm sure he can win.
I think so. Wouldn’t be surprised either way tho
Trust the process.
I think he's capable of winning if he can find a way to get across the finish line before everyone else
It’s no secret that injuries have been his worst enemy. Hell listen to Filthy Phil (most current and open about it) or others talk about getting past an injury and getting back to their base. It’s definitely brutal. He’s still showing flashes of speed and his starts are still there. Will he ever, I’d say he sure has the potential still.
big if true
Roczen did it, no reason AC can't pull one off.
negatore
I say yes he will. He still has one thing going for him even with all the time hes missed and thats he's really good at starts. Could be all he needs to steal a win one day. He still has the speed, like Kenny though (and maybe even a worse extent so far) he seems really prone to fading. Hopefully its more so just because he's missed so much seat time and not that the injuries have just robbed him of being able to push a full race anymore.
Would everyone love to see it happen?
Yes.
Is someone here dumb enough to bet me $100 that it will happen?
Doubtful.
This. It looks like he still has some issues with his arm. Once he gets past that? Bring it!
Look at how he rides in the early minutes of the main. I can only hope that when he does “get it back”…that it’s him and Kenny racing each other alllllll the way to the checkers
his confidence is a smoldering dumpster fire. He has the speed and shows it with his starts and the first 3 laps, then he remembers he has to be super careful, and dials it back 5% and this puts him in 10th. He reminds me of Canard a lot - TC14 had stupid amounts of speed and could give JS7 all he could handle....and then he'd yard sale it and lose a year. and another year. and another year.
AC9's body language on recent interviews is extremely defeated and he's not expecting much out of himself right now. I don't know how to turn that around, but that's his task at hand. Once he believes (and remembers) that he's got top 3 speed, he could wick it up. Until then, he's just logging practice laps.
Pit Row
Can only say this.... "I sure hope so".
He’s had plenty of good off seasons. He needs a good sx season..
LOL
Of course. It will happen this year, indoors and out.
after he builds off this season, and the next, and the next, then after maybe!
I want him to be successful, but he's a dude with so many talented options available, I would already tip my hat to this man and his accomplishments.
and on the last lap!
The Jett nut lickers will tell you that if he doesn't do it this year, then it won't happen.
Dunno- majority of us thought Kenny was done and we were all on his nuts Sunday morning!
One of the worst things about our sport is how apparent and obvious it is when an athlete isn't performing as well as they formerly did. If a star wide receiver in college went up to the NFL, showed flashes of greatness, dealt with a string of injuries, and came back from them and was still a solid enough WR to be a starter on a high-level team, I don't think many people would be sad or upset about their career. It's accepted that becoming and staying elite while remaining healthy is something only a select few can do, and just because somebody falls a little bit short isn't something to scoff at. If anything, most fans would be happy that said player has still managed to carve out a good NFL career.
But in moto, you can't help but notice when a rider isn't performing the way they could have in the past. It's impossible to ignore when a rider starts up front and gets passed by 6-8 other guys that are more fit to win, physically or mentally, than him.
It's sad, but it would be absolutely awesome if Adam got back to that level of being a podium guy w a couple of wins again, even for just a season.
He might be able to do it. I think he needs a change of scenery to get there.
No. Close the thread.
Can he?
Yes.
Will he?
Ummm…no.
