Deegan is closer to Marchbanks and RJ than he is to Jett. I'm sure that will change one day, but that's what it is right now. I think he will be very good at the playoffs though

Deegan is trying to manufacture a rivalry with Jett just as his dad did with Pastrana. Haiden is closer to Jett in talent than his dad ever was to Travis. But he is still clearly not at his or Hunters level just yet. He likes to claim he is improving. But his results are only better when they crash. His level seems about the same as it has all year IMO. Which is still great. But his second place result only occurred after Jett crashed and was pinned under his bike. Jett was 25 seconds ahead of him before then...

I like Deegan, want him to do well and succeed. Being 3rd fastest is nothing to snark at either. But it sure puts it in perspective how fast the Hunta brothers are. It's amazing to watch them effortlessly cruise to a 20 second lead. And when they turn it up (Like Jett did in Moto 2 to pass Hunter before his crash) it is just mind blowing. Meanwhile Deegan, Prada, RJ and the rest are back there blowing up berms and scrubbing rollers trying to go as fast as they can. It is such a contrast to the smooth riding...

What’s it matter. Deegs isn’t in their league and it should be pretty clear after moto 2. Jett had 23 seconds on him

Good observation and I’m definitely guilty of this. I knew he’d be good this year outdoors, but I definitely did not expect him to be this good. To be honest, after Supercross and the nationals this year, he’s my pick for 2027 Supercross champion if he comes in healthy.

Tondel, Fineas, and Harrison are a several seconds a lap off the pace of the top 5, I think it is when you get into rarified air of elite speed is when the smallest of details matter.

They are struggling to keep up with the competition, it must be the bike.

Deegans fast lap in both motos was 2:00+. Jett was 1:59 and 1:58 and Hunter was 1:58 and 1:59 in each moto.

It’s pretty close to crunch time for Jett. 10 down with four races to go. Trading motos won’t get it done. He’s gonna need some 1-1 races.

Honestly, if anyone deserves a bit of that luck it's Hunter

No reason to push. He'd have to pass RJ AND Prado to get 2nd overall.

I won't take away talent that Deegan has, he is truly fast. But the first few laps of the second moto, the brothers truly put on a clinic pushing each other, that was proof to the world they are the best. He still has a good bit of ground to cover to be at their level

He finishes 20-30 seconds back almost every week and yet he's "getting closer" every week.

He was going flat out while they were cruising to maintain a huge gap. Deegs was fun to watch, but he is objectively several seconds a lap slower, all other things being equal. The Lawrence bros are the fastest guys on earth right now (although I believe Lucas C. will be closer than anyone else next year). 3rd place to those guys is something to be proud of, but the narrative that anyone is consistently closer to them (barring silly crashes) is simply false.

I have no dog in this fight I just like to watch guys race dirt bikes. But, he definitely is the 3rd best guy In the field currently.

They said one little slip up in the points and Deegan would be right there to capitalize, he's 67 points back......
