James and Weege kept saying how “DEEGS IS RIDING THE PACE OF THE LEADERS” as he was making his way thru the pack. Now I get he was slicing the pack apart going from 31st to 4th. However, after lap 2, Deegan was 27 seconds down. At the finish, Deegan was 56 seconds down. Great comeback, 100%, however, “riding the leaders pace”? Absolutely not, the Lawrence boys were 2-3 seconds a lap better then him the whole race. 2nd moto, if Jett didn’t wad it up, he would have been 25-30 seconds ahead of Deegan on a clean start. Producers, Weege, and Stewart are pushing the Deegan hype machine at every turn.

Boom..der it is...
And the kiddos believe every word of it
He was in the 2:00-2:02 range the second half of the race, around lap 10 on, just like the Hunta bro’s. They killed him the first half. He wasn’t on their pace, but he’s closer than you’re giving him credit for.
The same cannot be said for the second Moto
They said one little slip up in the points and Deegan would be right there to capitalize, he's 67 points back......

I have no dog in this fight I just like to watch guys race dirt bikes. But, he definitely is the 3rd best guy In the field currently.
He was going flat out while they were cruising to maintain a huge gap.
Deegs was fun to watch, but he is objectively several seconds a lap slower, all other things being equal. The Lawrence bros are the fastest guys on earth right now (although I believe Lucas C. will be closer than anyone else next year). 3rd place to those guys is something to be proud of, but the narrative that anyone is consistently closer to them (barring silly crashes) is simply false.
How many points?
He’s easily the 3rd best in the World, sorry in America.
He's sharing 5th with Febvre behind Hunter, Jett, Lucas and Herlings.
If they had said Tomac is running the leaders pace you wouldn't have given a single shit they said it.
100%. Do they think we're all idiots and can't read/assess lap time differentials and time gaps at the finish? Just keep saying it enough and people will start believing it.
Who would have thought a series sponsored by Monster that CONSTANTLY gives mid race updates on where a certain Monster sponsored team's riders are, would be biased in any way...
To be fair there were as many people sick of the Jett hype a couple years ago except he matched the hype.
He finishes 20-30 seconds back almost every week and yet he's "getting closer" every week.
He lost by under 4 seconds 2nd moto at Southwick. 👍
He would be having a pretty solid rookie season if he wasn’t racing the two best in the world.
And yes, I know racing doesn’t work like that. But there has been champions that have had those types of seasons.
yep...and, the first time I've ever seen a 'Monster' track official run out so quickly and have a wrecked bike up and ready for the rider to jump back on without hesitation.
I know there was a thread about this last week, but damn the broadcast is going all in on Deegan!
The run through the pack in the first moto was fun, but they bailed on the leaders within the first lap it seemed and gave us 25 minutes of him instead.
Pit Row
Again Hunter was 13 seconds up on him with 15 minutes to go….luckily for deegs the brothers can’t stop falling or he would be 20+ back in every moto except high point moto 2
I won't take away talent that Deegan has, he is truly fast. But the first few laps of the second moto, the brothers truly put on a clinic pushing each other, that was proof to the world they are the best. He still has a good bit of ground to cover to be at their level
By the daily dose of Deegan threads on Vital, the kid is clearly living rent free in many grown mens heads. Amazing to me nobody stops to ask themselves "do I look like an idiot creating another Deegan thread on Vital?" before they hit little red 'submit' button below. There's a lot of ya! 🤡
I don't blame the booth for talking up Deegan. It's the only story that grabs anyone's attention. Tomac was relatively stagnant in position. I'm sure if Tomac started advancing like I thought he would after Deegan's/Prado crash in M1, they would be all in on Tomac and barely mention Deegan.
Who cares. They're hyping up the story and trying to make it exciting to casual fans. They do it with anyone in second place on the last lap if they are within 5 seconds.
The Deegan haters are far worse than the so called “bed bugs”. They look like idiots at this point.
As far as Deegan, he’s doing awesome. He’s in his rookie season going up against Hunter Lawerence, who is riding the best he ever has, Jett, who even with an injured foot is one of the best riders in the world. He’s beating a 4x World Champion and the rest of the class in his rookie season. All of them are seasoned 450 riders.
For context, Hunter didn’t win any overalls in his rookie season, was consistently well back from Sexton, and Jett was out injured. Sexton won one overall in his rookie season, but had only so-so results in the rest finishing 5th overall in a somewhat weak class.
Tomac didn’t win a 450 title for 3 seasons, and Jett, well Jett is an exception who went 22-0 in his rookie season, but I don’t think any of them faced the competition Haiden has in their rookie seasons. Yet some are acting like Haiden will never win in the 450 class. If anything Deegan will get better, he’s just taking his lumps now while the keyboard heroes touch tips at the thought of him losing.
I feel like Jett was trying to send a message in the second moto versus just maintain his usual 5 second gap.
Go compare lap times for Moto 1. (I have even provided a link.)
While in traffic and moving forward his lap times weren’t sub 2 min like a few of the Lawrence’s but they were very comparable. He was on a mission today and his ride was very impressive. Some of you guys let your hate blind reality.
what's that got to do with the price of grits in Kuala Lumpur?
isn't that the point? they didn't say that about Tomac because he wasn't running the pace....neither was dangerboy. think before typing.....
Go read the comments from any Vital or ProMotocross Instagram post that features Jett from today. The levels of delusion from Deegan fans is incredible, any crash, moment etc from Jett apparently means Deegan is "in his head". I'm convinced none of these shitbag fans know anything about Motocross at all. If consistently getting beat each weekend means being in someone's head, then so be it...
