Shane McElrath Liked a forum topic I got fired. - Shane Mcelrath's Midseason switch to Green
8/16/2024 3:59am Welp, lets talk about the elephant in the room... I got fired. BUT, the Madparts Kawi team took me in, and bent over backwards to get me ready for Unadilla. Considering I had a day and a half on the bike, I am beyond stoked on how my first race day with the team went. Excited to finish off the 2025 season strong. Lets keep things rolling! Check out the vlog for a behind the scenes look at why I'm no longer with suzuki and how my first weekend on green went. Thanks for your support! - SM12

8/12/2024 2:18am Not that it matters, but there's a few other reasons there's not much upset.. First, Max isnt' even guaranteed to get picked anyway because he's barely ridden this year compared to other options. Second, this is a US-based site so there really aren't all that many Brits on here to get a decent sample size of how fans here may feel. Then there's the whole nationalism thing, the UK doesn't really do the whole flag-waving thing the way you guys do since there's four countries in the UK and three in team GB. It's far more low-key for us, I...

_barty_ Added a reply to Yz125 not running after rebuild
11/6/2023 2:15am Morning fella, There all likely far far more knowledgeable people that will respond, but my initial thoughts are; You say it ran before? Ran well? Started easily (hot and cold)? What led you to rebuild just maintenance?). As you've eluded to - Jetting and then timing would be the first thing to validate, if she has compression, fuel and a...

A pretty small garage under a large apartment building is what you get when you live in a small town in Italy. Luckily I have internet and a TV. Slightly improved the arrangement since this pic, but not that much

4/13/2023 3:56am I thought about making a topic in here called "British Motocross" or something, then everything British can be done in there. Maybe that would work? I have a lot to say about Britain and I have nowhere to put it, so... Haha.

11/11/2022 1:53am Two come to mind.. 1) Turn up to one of my first events, bike won't start, Dad advises to take the plug out and check there is a spark - do so. However, in my adolescent and stupid thought process, I didn't think to ground the plug against the head bolts and instead held the plug close to my face...
_barty_ Added a reply to Todd kellet makes it look easy
10/31/2022 5:42am @philG - I went to Morzine with some friends, one of whom came with Ty. After a great day on the bikes, Ty recounted that day and the events thereafter that his family went through and it was beyond eye-opening. Fair play to him, and Todd, for continuing and being as great as they are on a bike. Side note...

8/23/2022 6:56am Afternoon matey - if you're in the South, check out The Performance Link, ran by Ben Milward. He's a great rider, multi-evo title holder and previous Evo world champ. He's all around focussing on the core basics and improvements first and foremost. Runs a few training days per year too with the likes of Doug Dubach...

10/19/2021 12:55am I'm sure it's common in other areas / countries too, but we (in the UK) also have youth clubs / adult clubs that assists with increasing saddle time(s). Adult clubs for example may run Practice, Qualifying and then 3 x blocks of races with there being Adult A, B, C, D and then a two stroke-under / over class. Youth...
_barty_ Added a reply to Rim Strips or Duct Tape?
10/9/2021 1:59pm British guy here chipping in... A wheel builder here swears by rim tape as it permits for trapped moisture and condensation to escape the rim, rather than sit within it and corrode both the nipples and rim internals. Granted we have some gross conditions, but just my / his 2 pence

9/10/2019 4:29am I raced the event and made a point to get trackside whenever Brownie was out there. Blown away by his riding, hats off to him - just on a different planet in overal speed and style. The whole venue was pumped to have the US contingent over there, spoke to Tedesco and Doug and they couldn't be nicer guys. Roll...

8/22/2019 11:15pm Mine is .030" with DG head. I ordered a custom copper head gasket .020" to get this. Stock head gasket is .040"(1mm) and resulted in .050". .030-.035 is ideal. Stock head is full combustion chamber and has no squish band. Still, you can measure outside edge, and tighten it up with thinner gasket

I'm going to tare down the head tonight and measure up, but have no idea what she should be so to speak! Really appreciate any assistance guys. Bart

5/28/2019 3:53am Seems to have resolved the issue quite nicely, recent event went well and after a slight advance on the timing she's been running a treat. Now, as a closing question - there seems to be some regular advice to inhibit or cut the rev limiter wire coming out of the CDI? Some say to cut the single black wire, others...
