Afternoon all,

I apologise in advance if I'm asking a silly question, but would anyone be able to advise me as to the 'recomended' squish for the mightly little zinger? I'm going to tare down the head tonight and measure up, but have no idea what she should be so to speak!

Really appreciate any assistance guys.

Not sure if you’re on Fbook, They have some groups specifically for the old RM”s, you will get some opinions at least.

Mine is .030" with DG head. I ordered a custom copper head gasket .020" to get this. Stock head gasket is .040"(1mm) and resulted in .050".

.030-.035 is ideal.
Stock head is full combustion chamber and has no squish band. Still, you can measure outside edge, and tighten it up with thinner gasket

AHH thank you @riv187!

I had an OEM 0.5mm head gasket in stock so have put that in following some initial measurements. See how she goes at the weekend.

the difference should bump compression 15-20lbs. 160lbs is a good compression number for power and rpm without building heat
