5/27/2020 12:51am This was supposed to be a clean up and sell bike but I can't leave anything alone if it's in my garage for more than 10 minutes so now I'm in full build mode. I did an 03 from the frame up two years ago that was awesome so I'm back at it again. Bike was a bit neglected/dirty so I started by tearing everything apart and splitting the cases to have a look at every inch of the bike. Overview: -clean everything that is usable, frame, cases, etc -rebuilt/rejetted carb -New Showa SFFair forks (3 pounds lighter than the...

5/27/2020 12:39am I get your point. But telling people how they should and shouldn't spend their money isn't something i'd be doing. Its a fair question, he's not asking if he'll be faster on it or not, he's asking for the data to make an informed decision on whether to go for it or not based on his own criteria.

5/27/2020 12:39am I don’t know you from Adam, but honestly man 99% of us can’t ride a 125 at to its full capability, let alone a 250f.... If you are not part of the 1% that actually can, why not just get the best turning and cheapest bike on the market? This is nothing against you at all, but I never understood the guys that roll up the the track with a 10k bike, motor work, full exhaust, etc etc yet lug around the track in 3rd for 11 minutes. Anyway, to make it short, congrats on the upcoming bike. If I...

5/27/2020 12:32am View this post on Instagram I wanted to update everyone and let you know that I will not be racing the final leg of @supercrosslive starting this weekend. The last 3 years I have tried to compete at the highest level in the world while battling my Lyme Disease. I have tried everything in my power to remain healthy while pushing my body to the limits but unfortunately it has caused my health to decline to a point where racing dirtbikes just isn’t in the cards for me at this time. I love this sport with all my heart and...

5/25/2020 2:23am People obviously rise out of poverty with all kinds of sports, so I didn't make much sense with that sentence. I should rephrase as; "Isn't it cool how motocross can rise somebody out of humble backgrounds to become a multi-millionaire?" Poverty was probably the wrong word too to describe the Stewarts' situation, too. Chalk it up to excited posting. Moto does have unique obstacles, especially for someone with James background, so I think it's cool how the Stewarts took the bull by the horns and just made it happen with hard work.

5/20/2020 1:15am That’s not true at all on a critical fastener like a head bolt, you better follow the correct tightening procedure or you’ll risk a fatigue failure over time due to cyclical loading. OP, the reason they specify in degrees is because they want a specific tension, or pre-stress, in that head bolt at all times. I’m assuming there is probably a necked down portion of the bolt that begins to taper up toward the threads and bolt head, this section is a specific diameter that is held to a tight tolerance. Because the thread pitch is known, and any slack...

. Actually, I have gotten quite a few thumbs down on my posts in this thread.. hey, this is Vital
It took a while to translate these and it's info I have not seen in any US MX mags. Too bad we cant see the names of people who give likes (as well as dislikes) similar to Facebook... would reduce the volume of negativity on the site to an extent.

4/20/2020 10:26am Terry Varner is an amazing engine tuner. The guy has been doing it for like 30 or 40 years. Terry was the head engine guy at FMF in the 90s. He built me several great motors. Not only that, but he cares about his riders. I remember him helping tape my shoulder up when I hurt it at the mini olympics one year. He’s a good dude. It sucks you are having problems getting your stuff done in a timely manner. I’m guessing Father Time is really starting to catch up with him. It’s a classic case of having the...

4/20/2020 10:23am Joe, I understand that he's a one man band. Most of these engine guru's are. Harris' issue wasn't his knowledge or engine building capabilities,or his turnaround time or even his lack of communication skills, it was the way he came on here and belittled everyone and continually preached his superiority ,lol He alienated a shitload of potential new customers, not real good business management sense. Maybe you didn't catch that whole disaster of a thread, but it was epic, and I'm 100% certain you don't handle yourself on a public forum as he did. As far as the NW swingarm...

4/20/2020 10:21am Derek is a good guy, just not enough of him to go around to do everything he is attempting to do. Being a one man band, there just are not enough hours in the day. Learning to say no to a job is a learned art and some of us (yep, that's me
) are slow learners. I wish him well, as I do Terry Varner. I hope OP gets back a engine that is meticulously worked and rips. And I hope everyone that has a vintage swing arm built in the Northwest US does not pay up front...
