It will run fine on a rebuild, but it's not perfect. I would replate the cylinder now or the next piston. I've seen this on KTM 2-strokes (TPI) that are built lean from the factory. They run hot and are hard on the nickasil coating (more so than carb bikes or TBI). A lot of them have this type of wear on the cylinder after only 80h. As you correctly pointed out, the hone marks get polished out of the coating particularly around the ports where the piston and ring have less support by the cylinder. The polished coating won't...

Hey guys, I have used a FMF Fatty/Powercore II and then paired with a Shorty, and now run a PC Works pipe/R304 silencer. You simply do not lose that much bottom end. Compared to a Bill's pipes with RAD Valve, my bike has more bottom end, and bit less top end. The guys that say the PC pipe loses all bottom might have some jetting problem, or want to ride it like a 4 stroke. I can corner without using the clutch, no problems, and I am not a pro rider. The stock pipe, even though is good, is all...

Why would a company not have offered their best product available, dosent make sense. It's not as if they have their own YZ250 race team.

I own a 2026 YZ250. I previously had a 2024 KTM 300 SX and a while before that a 2021 KTM 250 SX. I’m curious if you could describe the power delivery you want besides "more linear" and "like the KTM". Do you just want more low end torque or does it spin up too fast in a certain throttle range? The YZ250 motor is easier to ride compared to the KTMs for me (intermediate vet moto only). In your case, I would consider going back to a stock exhaust and probably remove the vforce too. Then start testing jetting...

I am a 2 stroke fan boy until the death... And its hard for me to type this but..... You could consider the KTM and pay extra to fix the suspension to your liking, or perhaps buy a 4 stroke bike. The Honda bikes are a good price right now. 1 bad injury and none of this is worth it...

I’d argue that the downtime is when kids are socializing and building skills to understand society and how they function in it. The social aspect alone is a viable skill at a public school. Sheltering your kid from interacting with people unlike them is not beneficial in the long run IMO. Homeschooled kids are always a little strange socially. You ever meet a person and a few months in they mention that they were homeschooled and have an aha moment?

I was homeschooled from 4th-8th for reasons unrelated to moto as I didn’t even ride back then. There are most certainly pros and cons to it just as there is going to a public or private school. To do it solely for the purpose of banking on the fact your kid is the next RC is insane just the same way selling your house and living in a camper for junior to “make it”. One thing I will say about public school is the fact they do not spend the hours they have your children wisely or as productively as...

I just did my first back to back moto today at my home track where I can really tell as I have a million laps here and know my shift points well. I also have some straights that are faster to grab another gear but I can’t always get it when I’m tired. Wow, what a difference this one makes! I’m gonna call PC Monday and recommend they stop selling the old pipe. The new one feels very similar down low, a good improvement in the mid and an unbelievable gain up top. This pipe literally does not sign off...

I think pipe and head (in that order) are the must changes. After you've done those the rest is just fine tuning. An aftermarket ECU can make it rev a little further. Porting will add some, but pipe and head will take you 90% of the way. A silencer is often more sound than power on the dyno. Jetting you will have to sort for your setup/conditions/riding either way you do it.

bottom mount is the same, top mount is different, as long as you run a "shorty" its all good. we've used the polisport kit with good results. Had 1 bike with all 24 oem parts (tank, subframe, etc) and one with polisport and they felt the same. My brother likes the polisport seat too, so win win.

So the new carb came in today. Turns out the problem was me. Some how I had it in my head that the fuel level should be at the mating surfaces. Turns out it is supposed to be 10mm/1cm above. The new one tested right in there... Oh well.... Expensive mistake. The old original is back on the bike, and...
You are right I think. It has to be that. It could just be that the new unit is an out of the. box failure..... I had to throw away the needle valve holder because it was deformed. The valve looks good though. As does the O-ring ect. I have put a lot of money and time into this carb...
