aees Added a reply to 'Struggling with bike setup all weekend' can no longer be a valid excuse.
8/31/2017 2:32am Sorry, but this just proof you have not ridden at the top. A few clicks can be the difference of seconds per lap. There is no way in hell, Tomac would have gotten down 1.7 from 4 without changing something on the bike allowing him to go faster. If you are not 100% on the settings but maybe 97-98% that...

aees Started a new thread Longer linkage (pullrod only), KTM SXF 2017
8/28/2017 11:55am Has anyone ran a longer linkage, 1-2mm? I just got it this weekend but did not have time to test it. Did you run stiffer spring when just running the longer pullrod, and not completely new linkage like PC? Less SAG?

aees Added a reply to Herlings Corner Speed
8/28/2017 2:55am 99% he ran pirelli mx32 has he always does. Same version you can buy. And yes, suspension wise there is a reason why riders like Musquin, Roczen and Herlings run smooth suspension. There is no way you can be super aggressive and successful at GP hardpacked tracks by just hammering it, tracks are slick and noes not allow it.
aees Added a reply to Bridgestone X20
8/25/2017 11:14am X20 rear is for really soft surface only, almost sand like or actual sand. Front is more versatile.
The thing is that #84 can of course ride a production bike with stock suspension, and be top 10. But every 0.5sec counts if he is to have a chance to win Saturday. Put that in perspective, why race it and get shit if you feel you are not comfortable or getting up to enough speed.
aees Added a reply to 2016+ KTM shock spring length
8/23/2017 6:53am 260 seems just to add a bit to much length, plus you will have trouble getting the spring on the bike without removing swingarm. 247 is 45 and 48 springs, think my 50nm was 255 and that was just about i could get it through without removing swingarm.
aees Added a reply to Tomac's Issue in Moto 1
8/22/2017 1:50am There is risk with everything, but i agree. Today with 50mm vision on Prospect and others it becomes less of an issue. Might be google companies that spec tear-off also. A pure roll-off business would not be as lucrative. If you get water or dirt under the film on roll-offs however, you could be completely fucked since you cant get...

aees Added a reply to Herlings to train with Aldon baker and saying Tomac is Gnarly
8/9/2017 12:14pm you should compare carrier long sand skills with supercross skills. Same as dutch and belgium produce top sand riders, france (europe) produce better supercross riders together with US.

aees Added a reply to Place your bets on 2018 450 shootout
8/9/2017 3:03am It will be about what bikes has the least flaws, not which bike is the "best". The only possible flaw on the KTM, is the AER/AIR fork. Order will be: KTM/Husky Yamaha Suzuki Honda Kawasaki KTM/HUsky: Air fork, but not performing badly Yamaha: Heavy, nervous, not as good cockpit as winners Suzuki: Heavy, No electric start. Poor fork performance Kawasaki...

aees Added a reply to Why no supercross in Europe
8/1/2017 7:25am One of the biggest problem is, where would you practice and when? It is really only in the very south of Europe you can build supercross tracks outdoor that are permanent available, and it would not even be permanent given the low temp even there in winter. So no one or few has grown up with that capability. Going on...
Last year neither Herlings, Cairoli or Gajser was 100%. All more or less coming from injury or being injured. This year it is different. Desalle has stepped up also while Nagl and Febvre stepped back. I think the only one that can run speed with those 3 GP riders are Tomac, Andersson, Bagget and Musquin while Tomac is most likely...
aees Added a reply to Holeshot device location
7/29/2017 11:56am It is a balance. The more you lower the front, less traction on rear you will get. Also run the risk of not releasing the holeshot device if it is a fast sweeper.

7/29/2017 2:40am Span is 104-108mm, rider preference. You are pretty much target weight. So i would set it to 106mm and adjust front from there. 2016 recommended was 110, they changed it to 105 for 2017. Since there are airforks on 17, you might get away with 110mm and more but not an optimal setup to soften front because of a too...
