I need to go to 508 again before the season is over. I think they reversed the track direction recently. Also need to try 23 down the street again. Didn’t like it the last time I went but want to give it another chance.
You’re living the SoCal dream 👍🏻
I am blessed lucky. One 35-40 minutes away private club track, another pay to ride practice track same distance. Another 1.5 hours or so away.

I moved here a decade ago for work and it's way better now than it's ever been. Our mayor is badass and walked back some of the super progressive shit that took down the other west coast cities. We have a couple areas that suck but lots of areas that don't and I just avoid the areas that do. It's expensive which isn't ideal, but if you work in tech like me you make enough so it's just like living anywhere else when you break down percentage of what you make versus spend.
The weather is elite though. There are like two places I could work in my career and it's here and NYC and there's no way you can consistently moto from NYC whereas I'm sitting at a track this morning and it took me 50 minutes to get here. Plus I can drive in like 6 hours to SoCal and go ride Glen Helen, Pala, Elsinore, Perris etc, while getting even more elite weather, surfing, and vacation time. That's what I do a lot in winter
If I catch all green lights I'm 17 minutes to Glen Helen's gate. More like 22-25 minutes. 1 hr. 20 to Pala or Cahuilla, 45-50 to Elsinore if I was going to ride there, about the same to Perris.
You must live in Vista, Oceaside, Fallbrook etc. For me it's:
Perris 7
Lake Elsinore 7.5
Fox Raceway 26
Cahuilla 30
Barona Oaks 56 *Favorite
Glen Helen 34
Ocotillo Wells 72
my brother-in-law lives in Homer down the Kenai peninsula. have to ask him if he knows where that track is.
Glen Helen 11
Perris 18
Lake elsinore 39
Fox 49
Cahuilla 69
Borona 78.
Milestone was 3.9 😫
Or ride out of the garage into Reche Canyon.
Thunder Valley, 15 minutes away!
and where you live is Goated for nature and non moto outdoors too!
GH. 73 miles
Perris 50 mi.
Pala 62 mi. (Favorite and ride the most, about an hour drive down the coast)
Cahuilla 93 mi.
LE 45 mi.
I live about 20 miles from where Saddleback used to be
Very similar distances when I lived in Louisiana to local tracks
Yeah it’s nice plus we have endless trails right from my house.
Some poor dude from Ohio actually downvoted my post.
Depends on what you call a track. The closest one is really short, the watering is inadequate, and the owner hardly ever grooms it. It's right out my front door. The next closest is constantly watered, groomed daily, and overall a nice well maintained facility. Its about 10 minutes away. I don't go to other tracks much. It's just to convenient to go to AirwayX.com
Same for me. SoCal MX scene is far from dead....
Blessed with 9 different motocross tracks within a 1 hour drive, 11 if you want to count two of the locations having a seperate AX/SX track.
Moto-25 minutes private, 45 minutes for track with races. Favorite around 1.5 hours. Off road - 1:45 and then a lot of fun stuff about 3 hours away. Most hare scramble races 2-2.5 hours away
My closest track closed this year so that was 25 minutes and a ton of seat time. Now the closest track is 30 minutes away and not open very often. My favorite go to track is 80 minutes away, but again, is not open very often. I purchase a new bike and no where to ride on a regular. I'm sure insurance and staffing is a big part of it.
Pit Row
Closest 1hr 20min
Favorite 3hr 40min
Most others 2-3hrs away
Western MN needs a track somewhere between Alexandria, Fargo, DL area.
We had Buffalo River MX by Glyndon and Motokazie had a few Arena Cross' at Red Horse Ranch by Fergus Falls that were awesome 20 years ago.
Archview Mx Park is about 20 minutes away, helped build the first and second versions when it came to fruition. It has changed quite a bit over the years. Also we built an arencross/supercross track in New Baden about 40 minutes away. Was pretty fortunate.
Yeah they reversed 508. I went yesterday. Pretty fun. When's the last time you went to 23? Its a blast now. Just dont go near there if it has rained lol
Closest track is 50 yards outside of my front door. Although seems like I spend more time working it than riding it, lol. My son rides it 4-5 days a week so I guess it's worth it. The closest pay to ride track other than Club MX is just under an hour with several more around that 1-1/2-2 hour mark. Drove 2-1/2 hours to ride a new track yesterday. It's at least an 1-1/2 to the closest track that host any races unfortunately.
When I was riding motocross track, we had these tracks within 90ish minutes from me.
Piru MX, LACR, AV Motoplex, I-5 mx, Racetown/ Sunrise, Competitive Edge, Competition Park, Zaca Station, MX3 in Bakersfield
Only tracks left are Cal City MX, Cajuilla Creek, Pala, Glen Helen, unless you head north to Hanford, Tulare, American MX, Little Okie or Honolulu Hills. All are over 90 minutes from Santa Clarita
I live in eastern Montana and having a track close by is something I’ll never take for granted again. I’m 80 miles to the nearest track…not as bad as others. I’m currently working on changing that by starting an OHV riding area through a partnership with a company who owns a lot of mining land in my area. May come to nothing but the company actually submitted my project proposal up to the CEO and subsequently their legal team. I grew up on 13 acres and having a glorified corner track was a dream come true back then. Definitely will always be thankful.
Perris?
South Texas area is nearly dead.
Near Austin?
Yeah, I forgot a few.
Gone-
Starwest
Long Drive-
Perris
Lake Elsinore
South of cycle ranch there is nothing. We used to have multiple tracks down here in Brownsville area. SpaceX is here building a new oil refinery defense industry coming up Motocross tracks are closing down.
Pala is 6.1 miles from me and I don't even have a bike, brutal.
