I have heard rmours that its a bag off mis matching parts built around their engine.
Wasnt Cairoli the lead development rider? No one liked the last gen KTM he developed either (vs the one before that)
That's a terrible call. Outside his Kawi contract, Chase has conflicting deals with A-Stars and Monster. Additionally, the Ducati has a narrow set-up window. As talented as he is, he seems to always be, ahem, chasing bike set-up.
I'm pretty sure when he was on Pulp MX a few months ago, he said that he planned to stay in the US.

The stuff he would do like this always made me laugh, I remember this and the foot to the other guys bars in mxgp I think it was?

Riders change gear and energy drink deals all the time. And what do you mean by narrow setup window? Do you mean time to get ready for ‘27 or something else? Either way, that’s what I meant by they better be serious about it: they would need to burn a lot of midnight oil getting things suitable for Chase… and he’ll need to be ready to do the work too. No matter who he leaves Kawasaki for, Chase has to be able to do well right away, like Jorge did, or it’s going to look really bad for him.
Won't miss him one bit...
great career - I hope he reads this shit (he wont) but title for title (AMA 250 and 450) he sits tied for 12th with some huge names of the sport. If you compare him to some people who were destined for success he had a much better career stats wise.
If his retirement simply came down to Ducati being unwilling to meet his salary demands, would KTM be interested in paying Dylan what he wants to add a third (proven) 450 rider to their program for '27 now that Eli has decided to hang it up? It wouldn't be the American the media has been clamoring for, but a Prado/Ferrandis combo with Coenen as a third development rider through supercross could be a nice mix.
If Dylan is truly over it and wants to retire, I respect that as well. He was one of my favorites and had a fantastic career here in the US.
Agreeeeed. Seems like he’d be lethal on that team compared to the bikes and teams he’s had in the US.
Drove down to Budds for the race that year and woke up the morning of the race with covid. I deciding against being a super spreader and watched the race on TV from my AirBnB. God damn it
Weege was talking about it on Pulp and said he didnt want to do all the testing that came with a new bike either. He just wanted to race. They talked about the bike having a really small window, at the moment, to get the settings right. Small changes just threw everything off
Yea, this would also be mitigated by joining KTM. Although they have a new bike coming, I assume with their resources and test riders they should be able to get it into the window much easier. Better bike, better salary, better results.
There were days where Ducati wanted to test and he had to tell them no because he needed more time to recover. It didn't help that Barcia was injured for part of the year as well.
Besides the Ducati money issues, he also wasn't sure if he wanted to sign up to race another 31 races next year.
In here are some vids from important races in Dylan's career. Enjoy you retirement champ!

Dylan gives a great interview to Lewis, where he talks pretty openly about racing, legacy and life in general. Worth a listen for sure.
LeBig interviewed him this weekend and asked what’s next for him - next week, next month, next year and he said “Rest, I’m totally fried” .
Holy sh*t. That race was awesome. Very very cool. Thanks for posting it.
