lol, more likely Deegan would have seen Prado's rear fender most the year.

He has already been injured for this season, he could start the moto the just DND, not start the moto at all,  or ride around in 10th to be sure Hunter win🤦

People think this is some kind of major strategy play that they chose to play out the last 2 motos of the year. They had all season to handle this 😂

You don't think Honda has some sort of strategy clause to reduce payments if Jett is injured?  If he DNF or DNS that clause could come into effect.

I thought it was weird he didn't ride around in 10th.  Seems like if he was hurt in moto 1 , moto 2 would be worse because the track is rougher.

I have loved the Lawrence brothers since they first hit the AMA and the 250s.

But after this fiasco I have to say that I really hope Prado, Deegan, and Coenen--and I am not a particularly huge fan of those 3--raise their game to the point where the brothers are never again in a position to pull those kind of deceptive tactics (in my opinion) to control who wins a championship.  Today fan perceptions, the sport, Honda, and the 450 championship are less than they were before Saturday, when all those were used as tools to enrich one family at the expense of everything else.

Wait, now I feel stupid. Would the 'family' have gotten less money if Jett had won and Hunter second?

I could be wrong but this just sounds like a jealous person, but I have no interested in racers financial contracts so you might know more than me.

Or follow F1 and many other racing series.

I don't understand this energy into this subject at all, maybe it's gambling? As I've never done sports betting.

People just want everything to be a big conspiracy so badly. He hasn't taken his right foot off the peg as much as he did on Saturday since the beginning of the season. He is coming back from an extremely serious injury that takes a long time to fully heal. He was clearly favoring his ankle during both motos.

They put the custom peg back on for the 2nd moto after taking it off for moto 1.

Everyone whines about the broadcast always pushing convoluted story lines and not focusing on the racing. Seems some of y'all have the same issue.

I'm not gonna sit here and say that he didn't dial it back a bit to let hunter win, no one can truly know that 100% either way. However, I fully believe that he aggravated the ankle. Unless he's really good at faking it, his riding was much worse than just cruising around.

Its actually the exact opposite for me and I’m sure a lot of other ppl too. I dont want it to be a conspiracy. I wanted to see hunter to finally win, and to do it straight up. He was actually the better rider all season. Ppl started the conspiracies that jett was going to throw it a whole week before the race and I was telling everyone theres no way thats gonna happen and plus its disrespectful to hunter cuz hes been the better rider and doesnt need to be handed anything.

I’m a huge fan of both riders and 100% do not want this to be a conspiracy, but at the same time it was sooooo obvious and I’m not going to fake like that was legit just cuz I like the riders. I wish I didnt see what I saw and I wish that wasnt what happened, but it was and theres nothing I can do about it. I wish jett didnt do that cuz it actually put a huge black eye on hunters championship that I dont believe hunter was in on. I dont think hunter would want him to do that so its a kick in his nuts from his brother and a kick in the nuts from the fans cuz it wasnt his fault it was jetts.

You'll never know the truth only if you believe Jett is lying.

You also have to premise your doubt on accepting that Hunter would want a title gifted to him.

Here's an alternative: a guy who missed all of SX and has been impaired throughout this season got a bad start and has said he tweaked that injury and could not press hard mid pack on a sketchy rutted track.  He got a better start second moto and still could not push hard, at which point it may not have mattered given the positions available and the points he was down.

I'll grant you this: he wasn't going to knock his brother down second moto to put those points back in his pocket given Pop's emphasis on straight up, and he may have been willing to take greater risks of compounding his injury if it was anyone other than Hunter he was fighting for the title.

The notion that Jett threw this really is an idiot test a lot of people are failing.

The one's failing the idiot test are the one's trying to pull the wool over our eyes and telling us we did not see what we just saw.  It's the biggest display of gaslighting I've seen in a while. And yes, we don't believe Jett is being truthful.  His interview with Weege certainly came across as disingenuous and somewhat awkward, so we don't have to premise this on the idea that Hunter would want the title gifted to him because I don't think even Hunter knew what was going on.

This is screwed up thinking, no more, no less.

Poor guy. Finishes an amazing seson and finally wins a 450 title after coming so close so many times and all people do is come up with ridiculous BS to demerit it. If Jett doesn't line up outdoors and Hunter wins damn near every moto the same people would go yEah BuT JeTt wAsnT tHeRE 😭

If Jett and Hunter were out, Deegan would have quite a few wins, plus the title.  Guess what people like you would be saying?

We don't know, who are you talking about? Jett would probably have the most disappointing season with no titles. Deegan had a 250 SX title this year and Hunter the 450 MX title. Maybe Prado, Tomac, RJ, Webb etc. as they all finished behind the three you mentioned.

it happens when your boy goes 0-22 and never led a lap....deegs dangerboyz suffered cerebral and emotional trauma when they realized he wasn't competition for the brothers.

There is no conspiracy. Jett let Hunter win the title. Is what it is. Human doing human things for their family. People who think 'no way' Jett would do that don't understand human psychology and deep family emotional bonds. You are fooling yourselves. Time to move on.

I am basically where you are at on this..

Agreed Jett let Hunter win…we all saw what we saw. Anyone calling this a “conspiracy” is not being honest with themselves..I wish it wasn’t the case..

It may be time to move on, but this title will always be associated with what happened and that sucks for Hunter because I do think he was the best guy..

You don't think reigning champion Jett wouldn't lay off to help out winless big bro? He did. Sore ankle theory don't hold water on a 20th start........Jett probably thought, I'll lay off the start and give winless big bro an easy lead, but Hunter's crash into Deegan made the throw painfully obvious......

Yes. Many younger brothers idolize their older brothers and would not hesitate to make a sacrifice for them if they feel they have had more than their fair share of success over the other. I can relate.

You are right about moving on. This won't be forgotten by many. But I actually have no issue with what Jett did. Just too bad he didn't do the deed a little more smoothly. You could tell he was totally flustered after seeing Hunter on the ground.

The problem with the "so what" people?

It's wildly against the rules.  Banned from the sport is a potential punishment... (not that the AMA would ever do that, even with irrefutable evidence)

I don't know what happened, and I'm not going to proclaim this or that happened, but I did go back and rewatch moto 1 and from my perspective, it's worse the second time you watch versus the first.  Jett is practically just rolling around at points in the moto, struggling with Mark Fineis and Jed Beaton .  Remember what the moto world said when Prado did that just 1 year ago???

It's sad we're at this point and I hate conspiracies, and I typically refuse to choose a side, but without Hunter falling, nothing looks like it does today, so I'm torn.  We'll never know and it's done and over with...  So water under the bridge I guess.

If the championship was fixed in regards to Jetts riding/results, my question is, do you think Hunter was in on it? Was this something Jett and the family discussed behind closed doors or was this completely orchestrated in Jetts mind? If this was a fixed chip, there's no way Hunter knew about it. And if he knew it was going down that way, I wonder what he thought during/after the first moto? I wonder what he thinks now. So scandalous lol

The AMA can't say a thing about someone 'not trying as hard as they should or could'. It's so easy to get a mid-pack start if you want to. It's so easy to just back off and cruise around. The AMA can't do anything about that, nor should they.

I bet Jet's biggest regret was not running down the 38 in moto 2.  Was for me.

Next years is gunna be great.  5 smoking fast riders, Hunter, Prodo, Jet, #38 and Lucas Coenen.

I hope they all make it thru SX healthy.

For the X Files people: when did this "conspiracy" for Jett to take a dive get cooked up?

In advance, because everyone within the family agreed it was Hunter's turn?  Was Honda in on it, and if not should they be pissed for $$ reasons?  Did Jett come up with it ahead of time and just keep it to himself?  Or did it occur to Jett in the spur of the moment when he saw Hunter was down and suddenly Jett was overcome because Hunter was jinxed by another fall at a critical moment?  I mean, there's got to be some coherence for something to be a plan or, God forbid, a conspiracy.

All presupposing Jett doesn't care about his own title legacy and would just go F it when he's a point down going into the last round, when atbthis stage of his career he's already lost multiple title seasons to injuries and is hobbled with something now that's more likely to impair him in the future than the past ACL stuff.  All presupposing that Hunter so lacks pride he would want it that way, as if anyone who's seen Hunter handle his business can imagine that's the case.

That's a lot of BS to package against Jett got reinjured and couldn't deliver.  What a load of crap.  Guys who succeed as these two, and others champions have, don't think that way.

That also wouldn't be irrefutable evidence...  Like a team member saying they wanted Hunter to win, so XYZ happened.

But is that the integrity in the sport you would expect?

About half way through Moto1 when Jett looks back to “find” Hunter as they cross the start straight. Yep. He wanted Hunter to catch and pas him. Generational Jett never looks back.

No way. If it was fixed it was Jett acting on his own. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t type of thing. That family is in some really deep shit now with the fan base and media. What I’m wondering is does it blow over or does it follow them forever or worse does it crush them?

Yeah, IF it happened, it would have just been Jett.  No way the team or the family would have known.

And it blows over quick…
