I've stayed out of the debates and comments from the past weekend, aside from a few upvotes and down votes. It's been tiresome.
But I feel Daniel Blair has crossed the line. He's gone from a well thought out, respectful, thorough analyst over the past few years to in the last 12 months, Cooksey 2.0 . Absolute trash. I haven't watched most of his videos this past season because it just became clickbait bs and stupid takes and claims.
Now he's claiming the Lawrence brothers have fixed the outcome and Hunter's championship will forever have an asterisk next to it. Fuck this guy, that's some low blow slander and accusations just because he wants some likes and subscribes
eeeeh, that's KINDA what he said. I watched the whole vid. He repeatedly defends Jett, and the asterisk comment was simply related to the mystery that will forever cloud the outcome.
He’s definitely not Cooksey, but he’s been doing the whole “hot take” thing for a while now and it’s made me respect his opinion a lot less than I used to.
In the interests of keeping the debate civil, I understand that but respectfully disagree. I feel he only put in those thinly veiled defences just to justify his opinion that the fix was in and it "was a tough one to record" . Imagine Jett and Hunter's family watching this and having this guy who has some respectability within the industry, call your sons cheaters.
That plus his stupid thumbnails where he looks confused/too serious. I just can't with that shit

Lol that was probably the most logical take that I have seen on this issue. He's not accusing but he is acknowledging that the optics of it are also not very good. Which I don't know how any real fan that follows this sport wouldn't agree with. You can think Jett did or didn't let up. I think there are certainly logical reasons for both. But it's also ridiculous to have a 100% hard stance on either side. For the people that are so irritated about the "tin foil hat" crowd, I get it, but if you didn't watch that, listen to the announcer team struggle to call what was happening and go through a similar thought-process as Daniel just described, then I don't think you have any instincts at all. It's just blind loyalty at that point. He's not accusing, and I don't think that would be appropriate either, but it's just pointing out how it looks kind of bad, for a variety of reasons.
If Jett wanted Hunter to win why not just tuck the front in a corner or drop the bike in a rut. Act like it stalled. Anything else really.
yeah. what this guy said!
He's figured out how to monetize social media...just like Tucker, Candace, etc. They're ghouls....its pretty grotesque that they tap into literally the worst impulses of humankind....but that's where we are now...🥲
Thats literally not what he said. Why dont you watch the whole video. He said only jett knows what happened and anyone who says they know 100% what happened (including you saying its def not rigged) are talking out their ass. Watch the whole video before freaking out and making a whole new thread. He didnt say it would have an asterisk because it was rigged, he said fans are divided and because the majority of them believe it was rigged that means they will inevitably put an asterisk on it. Idk how u cant comprehend that thats not him assigning anything to it.
Blair was reasoned and fair IMO.a
I do agree something feels "off".
If Jett reinjured his ankle on Friday or in practice then why wasnt the special footpeg on the bike for moto 1?
If Jet wanted Hunter to win, all he had to do was sit out the race or a moto citing his reinjury as the cause.
Cooksey II is 100% correct.
Obviously desperate for attention
that’s funny i was listening during my bike ride this morning and actually commented that he has turned into kooksie 2.0 along with that goof hopper!
even if you guys wanna call him Cooksey2.0...DB is highly connected to the industry. His "hot takes" might not be so click-bait. You're just used to Cooksey throwing shit against the wall and hoping for the best, but DB has come back on his pod several times and explained when he was wrong and why. And when he says things like "I've heard from some people that..."....he has probably REALLY heard from some high level industry folks, not Cooksey's little "sources".
Carry on....
Daniel has a strong hint of click bait in him.
I very much like the Blair Matthes project and his work on WSX but have drifted away from Main Event Moto. Daniel is tough to listen on that show because he puts so much inflection into his voice.
before the start of the season, when everybody was hyping deegan and feeding the jett/ haiden rivalry, as if it could be possible to happen !!!!
i sayed here i was going to have a blast watching all the back-paddling and excuses to try and hide from it, and it was a blast for sure, i got to check the personality and dignity of most of the speachers of the sport, only a few didnt jump on that train and didnt try to look american smart, over the logic of the sport.....
then reality struck, then it was a learning curve, then it was a good rookie season, then it was learning the pace, mthen it was the set up........but to make it really the blast it was, now its the conspiracy theory !!!!! the ultimate redneck sore looser excuse !!!!!!!
blair is no diferent then a bunch of others, just maybe not smart enough to hide fast as most did, or just true to their fans that need to hear something to relief their butthurt.....since the future look really painfull.......
you have to go off the deep end to get likes and hits these daze.....joining the ranks of Cooksie, Hopper, and that clown Walty
Daniel's voice sounds just like guy fieri. At least in the top ten thing. He's not as hyped on the show with Steve.
DB is going to have to battle with Pingree to take the Alex Jones of Motocross crown away. I think Ping is leading the way on that battle.
Pit Row
Carmichael called him out in the past and got heat for it. I'd trust Ricky's judgement in that regard over anyone on here.
I’m a Nor-Cal guy and I stopped watching awhile ago. Sad.
Eat one. He's the best in the business!
Fuck this guy mxbmx.
The extremism of opinion (hot take) thing has social media looking like a book with every line on the page being highlighted, effectively highlighting nothing.
I don't get how you guys are seeing his opinions as "extreme" and "hot takes" when he nailed how a lot of us were feeling at home, and how multi-faceted this mess is.
I'd rather hear this than what the RacerX review guys came with today. Jett was taking his foot off the pegs, so that's evidence that he was hurt? That doesn't prove anything... If you're trying to sell that you're hurt, that's how you would sell it. I'm not saying that he was hurt, or that he was faking it. But you can't call that "evidence".
I couldn’t agree with a comment more. His own stuff always feels a little off. He’s a great counterpoint to Steve on the BMP.
Reading this turned me into a Deegan fan.
Weig made a comment in the post race pod that stuck out to me. He mentioned that the big dogs did in fact tap into their headsets to have Stew make an observation that Jett was racing backwards to Hunter (paraphrasing lightly). Stew didn't, though. Not justifying anything from the weekend, just pointing out that I’m sure they were getting fed a bunch of different directives while trying to call it in real time.
I thought they just talked about whatever they see. I didn’t realize they’re told to talk about certain things. I thought it was organic. 🤦🏼♂️
Was he wrong ???
Typical clickbait title...
