We are almost to the end of the race season. I bet everyone in the industry, Steve and JT included, need a little bit if down time sooner than later. Thats my take on it. Last week wasn't great, but I will still tune in next week. Everyone has a bad day here and there, especially after a non stop schedule since the start of the year.

His trackside reporting is top notch. I just wish he'd chime in more.
I also love it when he throws in the occasional funny which proves he has a good sense of humor.
Sometimes I don’t realize other people are watching/listening and they don’t want to hear us bickering. Definitely will try to be better about it.
Being on the broadcast is easily the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Dream job. Never really know if I’m doing things well or not, just do it the best I can. In the end, we all just love dirt bikes and racing.

The point was brought up here and it makes great sense, since switching to YouTube and video podcasts the talking over eachother is significantly worse. When it was all done over phone lines the flow was much smoother, it doesn't work nearly as well for audio smoothness. Which is just part of progression, but I wonder if that amplifies the awkward moments.
Just finished listening to the review pod. Was a bit rough at the start but got a little better. Was as if there was a delay in them all hearing each other speak and it lead to them speaking over each other a lot. I usually like the debate, not so much when it leads into argument.
I wouldn't change a thing. I've been listening for years and the bickering is entertaining to me. It's old friends shooting the shit about a topic they know well and are deeply involved in.

re: your last statement. Do you still ride at all? I often wonder this about many of the ex pro's. It seems like many just step away from riding completely, some that stay involved in the sport but don't ride and a few that still do ride but as we know at one point they all loved dirt bikes and racing and it's puzzling how that can be turned off.
Because you get slower with age and it isn't as fun.
Switching to a different discipline like street bike, woods riding or adv bikes is an option though. Maybe vintage.

I really enjoy most anything Matthes related and JT is a huge positive to any podcast/broadcast but this particular episode got pretty annoying. I felt like JT was being a little too harsh on Steve this week. For a minute I thought I had tuned into an episode of Real Housewives
She literally could not believe his haircut was serious. She asked if he lost a bet. Then the peacock mascot got brought up.
They are co workers, both employed by MX Sports, it’s all a show, JT purposely pushes back against Steve just for the show. And vice Versa
