A 50% chance of rain in a forecast means that 50% of the area has a chance of rain. Not that the exact spot has a 50% chance of rain. There is a difference.

There is also a difference between your interpretation and the way this is actually calculated.

Does the AMA weigh every bike?

Just to educate you if you are open to learning. Rain chances are the chance that rain will be measured, within a specific timeframe, and specific location.

Meaning if it says 50% chance of rain for the city of Pluto over the next hour.

That means there is a 50% chance rain falls at any location of Pluto over the next hour.

What it doesn’t mean is that they are predicting half of Pluto to get rain and not the other half. This isn’t a debate topic it’s how it’s done.

The biggest forecast is not the percentage that it will rain, its the accumulation. Now its calling for around .25. That's about how much the water truck puts down throughout the day. Not saying it wont be muddy, just not as bad as most people think.

Biblical, no. But ~ 1”rain in the forecast tomorrow so I’m sure it’ll be sloppy.  Wanted to attend but considering rain and the additional traffic from Indy race in DC this weekend I’ll watch on tv. Hope we see some good battles!!

Always open and what you describe is how I’ve always interpreted the percentage to mean but it was recently pointed out to me by a local meteorologist that I had it wrong. No wonder his forecast is not out right about 50% of the time.  See what i did there. Haha

Here is a live link to click rather than just give outdated forecasts: Charlotte Hall, MD 10-Day Weather Forecast | Weather Underground
As of now, it's calling for 0.14" today and 0.26" tomorrow.

And regarding the calculation: When I See A 50% Chance Of Rain In The Forecast, What Does That Really Mean? - CBS Colorado
Both can be correct. PoP=Confidence x Area can be 100% confidence x 50% area = 50% confidence x 100% area = 70% confidence x 70% area.

That's weird, because the weather I just looked up shows a 60% chance of rain pretty much all day tomorrow.

its the level of confidence it will rain multiplied by the amount of coverage in a given area.

Rainy Budds Creek reminds me of when David Vuillemin was fist pumping up that hill after he had to do a u-turn and try again to get up. Am I remembering that correctly?

Must have something to do with me because the last race I went to was Charlotte smx last year and we know how that turned out. Don’t do this to me moto gods

Didn't someone do a u-turn to get another run at the hill? Damn, my memory really got jacked up after partying too hard, being married and raising 3 kids 🤣

4 min mark. DV gets up the hill and fist pumps, then Bubba gets a run up and does a bit of a ghost ride at the top
