TONS of kids go off to college at 18 and find the environment isn't for them just like Mark found out at Club. It is no slight to Clubmx at all, it just wasn't the right fit at the time for Mark.

18 year olds come home from a failed experience at university, get a job, go to community college or whatever. They REGROUP, grow up a little... and then attack life.

That is what Mark Finies has done. The kid is living a clean lifestyle on his terms and i think that is awesome.

Fuck community college, let's get drunk and eat chicken fingers.

If chase rode around in 15th place he wouldn't be tucking the front end either.

You are upset on behalf of a rider about something that the rider himself most likely is being sarcastic about.......Chase aint gonna give you his jersey big dawg. Chill down.

I’m coming around to the idea that Chase will tuck tail and return to Kawi.

Maybe we see some changes at the top to help smooth things over.

Agree. I think he stays and there’s some turnover on team personnel.

said on day 1 he should just roll around in 5th-10th and cash his checks. His legacy will survive post-kawi IF he doesn't pull a Prado.

Who knows but it seems like they have things headed in the right direction, Marchbanks is hauling tail on it now.

I dunno. I think you either try your damndest or don’t race. If you’re not 100% in that’s where mistakes and injuries happen, perhaps that’s part of what bit him at thunder valley.

Three years is to long for him to ‘roll’ around anyway.3 years of doing that in his prime would be hugely detrimental in my opinion. If ya wanna be at the sharp end of the spear ya gotta be at the sharp end of the spear, can’t half ass it.

I think that’s more of a reflection of how good G is. I think if Chase were still riding, he’d look the same as he did before.

All the “industry insiders” have nothing atm. It’s only speculation because literally no one has said or leaked anything (about Sexton).

Doesn't it seem surprising that the 27 KXF went for more stability and a longer wheelbase though? It's always been stable, direction changes seem to be a primary complaint. They would have started the new model before Prado joined but it seems like a strange choice to me.

Maybe Chase rode the 27 and was thinking not just no, but hell no.

Did anybody else notice Finies right before the 1st moto photo bombing an interview Katie was doing on the start line with another rider sitting on his bike?

Mark casually side steps into the background,  does a couple of hand gestures,  some this and that and then exits stage left?

Kid is having 😁

I'm a fan of Fineis now, I think regarding the Club story, it's fair to say there's probably another side to that but I took the interview as someone giving their unfiltered prospective on how they ended up more or less washing out of the sport for a bit. It's hard to argue the Club program isn't working for a lot of people, it's also hard to argue that Fineis isn't exceeding expectations while being a bit unorthodox. It was a bit cringeworthy him not knowing certain people that are likely a large part of his current rise to the front but it's not like he's been with the team long and I feel like that's to some degree understandable when put on the spot. Hopefully he apologized to the appropriate team personnel if there was any issues there.

It is hard to argue that Chase was meeting expectations on the Kawasaki compared to his potential, whether that is completely his fault or not. I think any reasonable person would say chase Sexton is a better racer than Fineis but he's paid a lot more as a result. Of course he's under more of a microscope performance wise. I'm sure a dig from someone who is riding well but not in the "should be winning races" conversation was not well received, especially while injured. Who can blame the guy?

If Fineis backs up his performance again this weekend and next, I'm a bigger fan. If not, then hopefully there's a bit of a reality check in how words can come back to haunt you but the point remains: I think what we heard in that interview is someone that has realized that they are not going to fit in well at the pro scene anyway so they might as well be themself, I can respect that.

The 2026 KX450 had a steeper steering head angle and reduced trail which made the bike steer sharper but hurt straight line stability and folks were tending to run the axle all the way back on the swingarm to get better stability.  Believe it had been mentioned by team riders that the bike needed more stability.  Guess the longer swingarm and wheelbase along with the same steeper steering head angle are supposed to work well together?

Actually, none of the above. As Mark mentioned in the interview, he wanted his parents to stay but Club would not allow this to happen. Also, his parents are definitely in a position to give him anything he needs!

Bottom line: Mark has the potential to be a consistent top 10-15 finisher. On the surface this may not seem like much; however, do not underestimate the value of someone that has a genuine personality!!!!! Not every rider can win, a strong personality is what can be the deciding factor from a marketability perspective.

Mark is a good kid, we both have Zionsville, IN roots.

Idk man. The bike is still extremely stable. Also, he was fast as balls on one of the most unstable modern bikes ever made. What that bike did exceptionally well, however, is turn. Additionally, Chases main complaint was that the couldn’t get the Kawasaki  to turn how he wants. Also, maybe ML can confirm but every factory bike of every brand run axle all the way out. Thats not a Kawasaki specific thing.

Part way through the interview now, and I know several people just like Fineis. A bit socially awkward, but very comfortable in their own skin but don't fit in to a lot of societal norms/taking life as it comes at them without a lot of forethought. I think a program like what he's on now is probably the best for him, rather than trying to fit him into a square hole when he's a different shape. Let him do what he feels will work for him, and give him a decent bike to ride, rather than forcing him to adhere to a program that he is convinced will not work for him.

Dude mentioned his lifting numbers.  He is really strong for a 170 lb dirtbike rider!

He also said he pulled out his phone on the starting line and took a selfie with Malcolm, lol!

I'm pulling for him now!!!

Not sure about the axle thing but a bike that feels stable to us might not to a rider like Chase.

Or something in the set up is taking away from the turning ability. Or it’s so front end bias it knifes. Not turning well could be the bike over or under steering.

Aren't the 250 and 450 chassis nearly identical?  Kitchen was running the rear really low at Unadilla, seems like he was searching for stability. Moto 1 he looked like Ronnie Mac doing boner airs off all the jumps.

Could also explain why Marchbanks likes the bike, he naturally keeps his weight towards the rear.  He corners in the middle of the seat.
