Millville has/had downhills which look sketchy af at speed, even on TV and the screen never adequately show how steep hills are. What is the sketchiest track overall on the pro national circuit and which track has the sketchiest section?

Back in 84, Millville had a longer downhill.  I watched Hanna with a violent handle bar shake half way down the hill many laps.
Also remember iirc Hannah during practice slowing down where the chadapult is and taking a sharp right and hill climbing the big hill there.
I wish someone could speak up on this as I was 14 at the time.

I think those things took out more track crew side by sides who forgot about the drop than they did riders.

There's no way a professional motocross rider crashed because of those drops. I take bigger drops on my 4" travel XC mtb and that's not a brag lol. I do recall someone cartwheeling a golf cart, though.

I mean, you have a point... and a boat load of evidence. Just doesn't feel like it with no steep hills or big jumps i guess.

I always thought the godzilla jump to the steep downhill at Ironman looks scary as anything to hold it open when landing down that.

Mt Martin = sketchy, and multiple spots around Glen Helen through the years.

Pretty sure they had Josh Grant as a passenger and fucked his knee and put him out for the season...

I've been on schectery shit in off road racing than you've ever seen on a groomed for TV mx track.

Tell your mom to update her only fans page, and when you come around in +10th on amateur day, just send it. She'll be videoing it

Southwick claimed 4 collar bones and 2 backs. Ping actually talked about it a good bit on his review show

It’s been mentioned already but Glen Helen takes the crown. And that’s not just my opinion, either; several top pros, including Reed, have called the track “dangerous”.

That said, bring back Glen Helen! 😂

I've been riding mx for ~34 years.... So yeah, I ride, and pinning it down Mt. Martin looks sketchy af. Doing 55-65mph at that speed in a rough and rutted track is gnarly and one small error has you cartwheeling down a long hill. If that's not sketchy to you then you haven't done it, you haven't hit the ground hard, or you don't have any natural sense of self-preservation.

I'm sure there have been down right dangerous tracks over the years...especially the early days.  I agree that last week bit more riders than usual but I thought it was more to do with the speed they were carrying on an unfamiliar surface more than the track being "sketchy".  It was a mean bitch though.😉

Yaa I was going to say washougal because of all the insane shadows that the riders have to deal with all day.

I think I define sketchy differently. My definition strays away from "dangerous", and leans toward "shitty", and thenshittiest was always Middy Creek

By sketchy I generally mean dangerous. As in, if you want to compete you have to charge xyz section, or do 123 jump, and charging that section or hitting that jump is a high risk thing. Charging downhill ruts at dilla, charging down Mt. Martin before this years changes, there was a rhythm at Ironman a few years ago that left 0 room for error and was super high speed (think Deegan bit it hard there), and things of that nature. I honestly don't remember enough about muddy creek to say anything about it being sketch.

Perhaps they should flatten the tracks, pave them and mandate 4 wheels and a full cage.

I think the general discussion has revolved around slowing down the riders with tighter tracks. This would be a huge swing in the opposite direction....
