I wish they would pay more attention to the race, then the storyline. I'm watching the leader's gap shrink to almost nothing, while there are split screens of two other parts of the race.

I'd rather watch the leaders duke it out, when it's close.

Can anybody confirm or deny if the drone motors locked up while in the air?

The broadcast just can’t help but suck. We have a title battle going on with both riders working through the pack after Davies goes down. A massive battle between teammates and we are watching 10th place, and a blimp shot split screen. For five effing minutes of the moto they were so enamored with the lead gap that they didn’t even mention the championship points chase.

I can’t help but wonder wtf. Missing the entire premise is just beyond me.

Don't know how good we have it until we don't have it.

He Bill, that was 25+ years ago.  The world has advanced with new technology and new ways of thinking/broadcasting. However, Bondo’s production is still as if it’s going to print in Cycle News. Just because we can have it live doesn’t give them a hall pass to just throw shit on the screen. Bondo is terrible at his job.

It would be better without commentary just showing the leaders most of the time

I've never had a problem with the broadcasts...but I like Vienna sausages and potted meat so my taste is kinda questionable.🙃

The pre-loaded, pre-scheduled weekly complaints about every little thing ‘wrong’ with the broadcast is eerily similar to Kooksey’s constant screeds about the Coombs’.  Just like Kooksey thinks that he could do such a massively better job than MXSports and Feld, everyone thinks that the production of this kind of live event is extremely easy and bash anything that might be missed as a horrible mistake.

The best thing that the TV production crew could do is put everything on a 30 minute delay. That way they’d have prior knowledge of all the incidents that they would want/need to cut to and the unpredictability of the sport would no longer matter.

Potted meat reminds me of first and second grade so much that just the first whiff of it makes me feel 6 again!  I have to admit that every year or two I see it for sale somewhere and have to get a small can just for the walk down memory lane. My wife and kids have never shared my enthusiasm for it, but having a potted meat sandwich just feels like a firm, warm hug…..

Unfortunately, the broadcast in both MX and SX is getting worse every year. The only bright spot is JT. Katie Asshat is terrible. No one gives two fucks about what the pitboards say Katie...

What other sports have to put up with this guy 17 weeks of the year?

The old 'back in the day with Cycle News' argument.  It's 2026 and the relevant comparison is not an old magazine, it's other professional sports.

Riders' last names are on their jerseys.  Riders' last names are on the live scoring.  JS calls them all by first name.  Odd.

I completely disagree... They miss things like every racing production and that is fine.  It is everything else that they are failing at.  For instance... Graphics which are a quick and easy fix. Then we have the actual bs of pushing narratives instead of following the actual racing. Another quick and easy fix. Third, we have the stupid decision making behind the helm, yesterday was a clear example of following the wrong battles just to talk about the riders.  I will never understand not wanting improvement.  In this case, very easy and clear things can be changed.  All the people complaining about individuals pointing out the glaring failures? Yeah that is just pathetic.  I want better for our sport.  They do such a great job, that they didn't even mention the points battle changing in the 250 class in the last 5 minutes all while covering a 10th place battle. That isn't a difficulty problem, that is someone saying "cover this" without a clue of what is important. Nothing Cooksey about this except for you inability to see the problem.

Malin is perfection personified. Weege is a clueless asshat. Yeah, he’s a nice guy, blah, blah, blah. Stew is better than Ricky but that’s not saying much. Bondo is clueless. EXAMPLE:  Weege and Stew expressing surprise when they finally “notice” Hunter took the lead. Hell, he was in lead over 30 seconds before they noticed. Complete shit show. Get a Malin, you don’t need two announcers. At least we don’t have to listen to the shrill Will Christian telling us who she talked to.

JT would make a way better job than what Weege and JS does. Heck, throw in Emig along side of JT.

See, I'm the complete opposite. I enjoy when they cut away from live racing to show interviews or people talking on the side of the track. My absolute favorite is when they show the riders team members or family  members watching the race.

Or when during every moto, they have an embedded commercial for the SMX play-offs.

Those are sweet!

Weigandt has this habit of announcing what just happened, then very quickly telling you what you think about it.  One of those things you don't notice until you do, then you can't un-hear it.  He's the first line of narrative control for the rest of the week.

Bitching about the broadcast on this site is fucking ridiculous, I wish everyone of you that bitch about this stuff every week had the opportunity to grow up when it was never on TV.

I grew up without being able to watch, then set the VCR to catch a two week delayed broadcast and I still feel the current product is mediocre

The old 'Cycle News' argument. This is like saying constant blackouts over the course of the day are okay because earlier in time people didn't have electricity. When getting a service or product you don't compare it to something similiar in the past, you compare it to other comparable services or product today. If you do this you soon realise how shit house the AMA SX and MX coverage and broadcast is.
