I think the cameras in their face as they dismount with HR still pegged and adrenaline pumping is unnecessary anyway, let them get the dirt out of their teeth and recover a little, in 3 minutes they will be up on the podium ask the questions to them there.

I'd bet the intent of sticking the camera in their face right after the race is to get a reaction like we saw yesterday. But instead, 99% of the time all we get is disgusting images of guys hacking up half the track from their lungs.

I’m not very bright and of course don’t know 18 or 96 but my guess is Jett was angry for two reasons.

  1. he hates beating 96 the way he did.  I bet it kills him.
  2. His foot is still bothering him which impedes his ability to ride the way he knows he can.

And then 96 was mad after moto 1 for obv reasons.  I have absolutely no issue with either rider’s passion on display at the end of moto uno.

Note, it's also the camera operators job to capture the drama for the broadcast.  This was disrespectful to the camera man as he's just doing his job.

Double edged sword I guess ?  On one hand these guys are expected to "Be professional" at all times no matter what the circumstance, but on the other hand the media LOVES it when they aren't, even for a brief moment. If a rider was "Disrespectful to a cameraman" he should take that as a compliment. Job well done. I get it but I don't blame either one of them one bit, they weren't prepared to talk to the media yet, and if anyone is mindful and respectful to the media god knows it's those two. I just became a bigger fan of both of them.

I think you are isolating motocross as if it's not trying to be 'professional' as everyone wants it to be.  There are cameras in the faces of athletes literally 24-7 on sports broadcasts showing the losers the moment they lose.  We should not be making excuses for motocross riders as if they are the only one's who are on film losing.

If we are considering the sport a white trash sport that it's known to most people, then yes it makes sense to make excuses for Jett's uncharacteristic meltdown.

Damn you getting a lot of thumbs down in your posts tonight / today. I'm guessing maybe a record amount.

True, it's probably the one thing these guys do on a motorcycle that we're capable of doing, too, but it's still pretty gross to watch.

Honestly I loved it.  Jett is just so damn grounded and human.  We are watching him go through the hardest time of his entire career and some frustration is absolutely to be expected.  He was OVER it and had had enough.  It was EXACTLY like that post-race  behind the podium where he literally grabbed the camera lens and made them focus on Tomac while his kids were celebrating with him right after the race as if to say, "Look it's not always all about me.  Why don't you focus on what's REALLY important right there in front to you."

Frankly the dude is awesome, and so is his brother who thanked America for "treating us as one of your own" on the podium.  They get it.

Didn't he swat the camera away after moto 1, which he won? I thought the behavior was odd, honestly.  He won and Deegs finished further back due to the crash. 2 good things, in his favor. Moto 2 he finished behind his brother and Deegs, made 2 costly mistakes and acted normal, afterwards. So I would think he'd be more upset after moto 2 than moto 1, if he was just "being competitive."

Honestly don’t think he is worried about Deegz. He is worried about Hunter and just got passed and dropped late in the moto by him.

everyone has an opinion about Jett....Jett is worried about Jett, specifically his ankle which he did mention. if it was good he said he could go much faster. funny how people cannot comprehend that

But vital need something to whinge about?!?! It’s like the real housewives of Moto in here these days. On a serious note I hope Jett can recover 100% from this injury, it’s clear to me he is far from his best, Hunter has gotten quicker yes but Jett is definitely not Jett of 23/24/25.

pretty sure they're hoping for a candid reply or slip up before riders have a chance to compose themselves and give PC answers.

these threads pops up when any rider shows any emotion, deegan tantrum after his 250 mechanical a few years ago, jett this weekend, hunter less so but still angry.  the average person cant even comprehend the level of drive, commitment and sacrifice these dudes make to be at the top.  to them a loss is EVERYTHING to us its just an "off weekend and look the points are still good" they are wired different.  Most posters cant even work out consistently and bitch about working 40 hour weeks.  the training and travel these guys do would break most people.  You see this in boxing and ufc too, you dont have emotional over reactions because youve never been in a spot to sacrifice everything to try an accomplish a goal.  to me this is awesome you see how bad they want it, and how annoying some of these "camera right in your face seconds after coming up short on something you worked so hard for to ask you dumbass questions."

riders>media....and if you dont like it you can suck it

The average person in 2026 is such a self-centered narcissist that they process everything they see through the filter of how it makes them feel, personally.

You know who else does that? Toddlers.

I agree with you. Racing has become too much about seeing who is fastest. Jett needs to embrace humility and appreciate having fun. He should have looked directly into the camera and slowly mouthed "I love you mate" before turning around to join Jorge and Hunter in big hugs. Then a click, thunk, buzz and...a glow appears.......green like the Monster logo except different. This glow is a toxic waste green.... peace sign! The glow is massive, easily encircling the entire podium and canopy piss test area. The camera pans out to get the full view.
The Lawrence brothers and Jorge take their places around the tent and pull out their secret, hidden instruments. "One, Two, Three, Four!
Everybody's talking about
Bagism, Shagism, Dragism, Madism, Ragism, Tagism
This-ism, that-ism, ism ism ism
All we are saying is give peace a chance
All we are saying is give peace a chance"

They croon, they are actually pretty good, it's catchy and the crowd starts to pay attention. As they continue with the song it's no surprise they are actually pretty skilled with their instruments, and they share the vocals with incredible harmony.

The crowd starts to join arms and sway back and forth, encircling the trio.

It's a beautiful moment. AMA officials hug, spectators turn off their chainsaws, PulpMX and Gypsy lock eyes and give each other a nod of respect.

Katie Osborne cuts in, "I'm getting reports that we've grown the sport. James, Can you elaborate on what that means to these riders out here today?"

I can’t believe anyone’s the slightest bit bothered by all this. Jett was pissed and didnt want a camera in his face until he had a second to regroup. So what who cares. No one wants a camera in their grill when they’re pissed and upset. To me it shows he (and Hunter) are normal.  I bet $100’ and breakfast anyone giving them shit for their reaction would absolutely lose their minds if someone stuck a camera in their face during one of their worst days.  🤷‍♂️😆.  Jett just gave the cameraman a downvote, like this post is going to get. LOL

Much ado about nothing

Another dumb thread but jumping in to emphasize one solid post - As usual, sumdood gets it.

Enjoy the racing all!

He knows that camera is going to be there after every race if he finishes in the top three. So it's not like it's unexpected.

I agree with some others, you'd think he would be more pissed after that 5th place finish on the 2nd moto. More than anything, we're seeing Jett is not the winning machine of years past. He's mortal and other racers are smelling blood.  I was kinda surprised to see he was 2 seconds off (slower) Deegans best lap in the 2nd moto.  When he caught Deegs in that 2nd moto, His mind told him to pounce fast, and make quick work of getting around him and avoid a situation. Unfortunately for Jett, it cost him when the inside of that corner was dryer than the outside and just didn't have the grip.

Is Deegs in Jett's head. I'd say after he looped out there when Deegs was hopefully his next pass, that yes Deeg's is in his head. Even if ever so slightly.

He was buried in the pack man, hard to get a fast lap lol. Go look at deegs fast time from moto 1. He was like 12th.

How buried in the pack is finishing 5th?  He had many laps to lay down a faster lap than 2:13's to Deegs 2:11's  and Jorge's 2:09.  If you were paying attention, you'll notice Jett couldn't run in the 2:11's like Deegs in either moto. Not even the one he won? Does that mean he was buried in the pack running 2nd or leading? I'm confused now!

Sorry, kinda sounds like an excuse. Even Jett wouldn't want you making excuse's for him.
