Salt is salt...
The body gets NaCl (Sodium-Chloride) and it's the same chemical with the same effect no matter where it is sourced.
Yeah, I think part of the reasoning is that the sea salt crystals are larger, so that a teaspoon holds less actual material than a teaspoon of regular table salt. That's why I think I feel the need to use more of it when I've tried it. But yes, the NaCl is pretty much the same by weight, just not by volume.
Impressive!
Well done. Myself after months of surgeries and stalled weight loss on wegovy, I have throw in that towell.
I have jumped ship to Reta, after a month of dialing in my dose I'm starting to lose weight again. Slowly but surely.

Yeah, I don’t think anything works exactly the same in everyone. I know people who didn’t have a positive experience with GLP-1s, and some that had fantastic success. I think I’m somewhere in the middle. One thing seems sure to me about my experience; the GLP-1 doesn’t really make you lose weight. You still have to do the things that make you burn more calories than you consume. But the GLP-1, at least for me, completely changes your relationship with and desire for food. Now I actually have to think about eating as fuel, not because I feel hungry. Yesterday is a good example. I felt like I overate a little bit because I had an afternoon snack, but at the end of the day I ended up only consuming 925 calories. I need to get about 50% more than that to maintain weight loss while keeping muscle and also to maintain focus during the day, but right now it’s difficult. I just almost completely forget about food until my preset alarms go off reminding me that it’s time to eat an apple, have a protein drink, etc. Again, talking to some of my friends who have been thin most of their lives they say that they’ve almost always had that type of mental approach to eating. I’ve never experienced that until now.
My oldest son is 6’2 and is finally over the 150 pound mark, but he didn’t pass that until he turned 30. He’s a rock climber and his body fat percentage has to be in the lowest couple of percentiles for his age. He says that’s always how he felt. I would bet that if he tested for it, his natural level of GLP-1 agonist would be much higher than average.
I know two things for a fact with respect to weight lose.
Number one, living in the Houston area with some of the best food in the world is not conductive to weight loss………..chicken fried steak, Cajun and seafood!
Number two……..Modelo Oro in bottles, $18.88 at H-E-B grocery stores.
Potassium Chloride, Sodium Bicarbonate, Magnesium Chloride, and Calcium Carbonate have something to say about "Salt is salt...". There's also "hidden" sodium naturally occurring in plants and meat without chloride. The hidden sodium in meat comes from eating plants that have it or digested sodium chloride (thus decomposing the compound), not just NaCl added during processing.
I'm not really a "know it all" douche: I just play one in real life!
You are perhaps, 2-5% correct... Salt is salt as far as your diet and body are concerned.
Come on guys, be nice....no need to get salty with each other. 🤓
Does anybody keep track of VO2 max on their watch/phone as they are getting in shape?
I know the measurement is not as accurate as a real test but I figure it is better than nothing, and seeing the increases over time is great feedback and motivating, even if the pounds are not always dropping as fast as they once were.
Let’s keep it going and hear about some more success!
I am down 30 pounds since December 2023 when my wife bought me a smart watch. Which led to me tracking some workouts on a rowing machine and cutting out alcohol and sugar along with better eating.
Currently at 224, down 88 pounds since January 1 and 180 days alcohol free. I am struggling right now, the last 3 weeks have shown almost 0 weight loss. I have been weight training 3-4 days a week, I look great and feel good but I have noticed that belly fat is not decreasing. I am going to tighten things up for the month of July and see how it goes. I am currently 12 pounds away from my ultimate goal. Overall, Im not upset about the big picture, slightly frustrated at the moment but I also knew this would happen in the summer. We are currently preparing for out first trip to Lorettas, stress is slightly elevated as is the workload.
Fukin A congratulations you're killing it that's huge progress. Good luck at Loretta's !
Damn that is amazing, you must be working really hard! Keep up the good work and I bet you will keep dropping the weight.
I know when I was dealing with stressful situations my weight loss stopped and I put on about 10 pounds before I got back into the groove again.
High Cortisol is what keeps most belly fat around.
Being steady and down 7 pounds, finally consistently under 160 at 159lbs. Wouldn’t mind getting to 155 (I’m 5-6) but will be happy to maintain where I’m at.
I think that I ‘accidentally’ got into a good experiment showing how sensitive I am to sodium. Took a vacation with the wife at the end of June and while I kept good details of what I ate and didn’t suddenly start eating 3K+ calories per day, I did have a hard time selecting low sodium meals. When I came back from vacation I was up about 6 pounds. 4 days later I was lighter than when we’d left. I was extremely happy with how the GLP-1 made it easy to only eat half my meal or decline a dessert.
What was crazy was that I started to really want to get back home and get into my eating ‘routine’ again. Vacation was great, but I was really happy to get back to my structured pattern again.
Id like to share with my moto brethern how I peeled off 25kg in less than 6 months 2 years ago, and have kept it off. I take no medications.
No excercise regime, no counting calories, no special shakes, no starvation, no eating lettuce or drugs, or meds, or weird stuff. Still eat 3x a day.
Carnivore diet. I also used a 'Browns gas' machine. The transformation is quiet compeling. No more aches, no more stiff muscles or joints. Perfect blood pressure, clear arteries. Im 62.

Speed sit ups to penny wise 20-50 min .7 days a week, great for refreshing your quickness & speed. I did them because my back is totaled ‘& because I can’t run at all
For last 12 yrs. It’s a form of spiriting for me. Gett back on a mat , legs in the air & go . Get arms up behind you , besides you, change where your legs bicycle. Last aug pic I only did them for 4 weeks & that was 2+ months b4 pic. Had 3/4 months of injection 3 times a week. Letting body rest no exercise other than speed sit ups. Pic wt 162,3 new wt for me . I was 172 from 35 to 58 1/2.
Good job it’s not easy for a lean guy to drop lbs. 1 thing when your injured bad. Sat to wed I felt with this in icu & the Trauma center. They transferred to other beds repeatedly. It was a struggle for them & I weigh 163. When you’re in the worst pain ,. You for sure want that to be a smooth operation .
