Comedy is hard.

Shows how many watch the post-race press conference.

Even worse, im always surprised at how clueless the podcasters are.  Now some of it is timing, as in their podcasts are produced before all available interviews and/or info becomes available, but the amount of times these podcasters discuss topics without facts or answers that are available to them via post race interviews and looking at lap times etc is alarming.

I have no problems with the penalties but if you have that many red cross/red light jumping violations there is something systemic going on and it should be looked at internally to understand why.

That's what I was thinking.

Either there was a visibility problem or an attitude problem.

One should be punishable. The other, not so much.

Remember the incidents in supercross when several 450 riders jumped on a Red Cross flag and in the 250 main event Jo, who was leading, rolled a jump with red lights and was passed by riders who ignored the lights and jumped anyway? If it’s an attitude problem, they fostered it with the “leader light” and related bullshit that they came up with to justify their decision to not penalize anyone.

There needs to be professional flaggers for the whole series… whatever the cost, it needs to happen. Its super egregious for this many penalties to happen, let alone on red crosses.

But a tshirt and hotdog is supposed to be acceptable. And then randomize the people every weekend….. people like to shit on safety, until catastrophic damage occurs… playing with fire imo

With such an absurd amount of penalties, it makes me think…it’s kind of like when a whole bunch of students fail a subject, at what point do you blame the institution?

I am no huge Jett fan, but giving someone the finger isn't a big deal...especially since it was during qualys. Complete BS on the AMA for this. But, the AMA is a sh*thole organization. They'd fk up a one car funeral.

You do know that the AMA officials are the ones who activate the red lights, don't you? And the wheels on the ground flagger immediately before the lights doesn't show the flag until and unless their AMA spotter directs them to do so, or the lights are turned on.....

This isn't a flagging issue...it's a rider awareness issue. The flags/lights were shown and on at the proper times, and visible to the riders.

When are they going to start handing out penalties for guys rolling around in qualifing and  waiting for someone who is on a heater to purposely get in their way to screw up their lap?

Where is this list posted/ AMA Pro racing?

Clearly, if you have 1 or 2 riders ignore/not see the red light you can attribute it to the riders. But at some point when you have many riders that run afoul of your intentions (jumping on a red light) you have to question if the signal (red light) is too easy to miss causing the problem. So what's the penalty for the organizer to continue using a bad system or bad placement? At some point you have to question the quality of the teacher instead of just saying the students failed. Maybe improve the system?

Or a penalty for going outside of the white markers to get out of the way.

For 30 people to get a penalty for jumping when there was a red light (not flags) where was this light on the track because it’s pretty obvious that it was not in the riders line of sight for it to happen to that many.

BS. I was there. All those section 16 penalties in 250....That was my section. I was tight up to the banner waving my flag as the riders come out of the corner before the quad. The lights were at the bottom of the take off to the quad. No way they couldn't see me and the lights. The flag was waving and the lights were on. They say it at off-road races all the time....don't follow the butt ahead of you. These guys got bunched up, got tunnel vision and that's it. People can downvote all they want. When they go to a national and work as a wheels on the ground flagger with a spotter, then maybe they should comment

At Budds Creek I watched the flagger with the red flag up the side of the hill across the track from the mechanics area so no one could see it unless they looked the opposite direction.

Where the flaggers and red light is Must be in a visible area in the direction the riders are looking.
