So what happens when he doesn’t gel with the Yamaha?

But what if the 27 cow is actually the magic unicorn?

Ngl, when he comes back, on whatever bike it may be. It will be his last chance to comeback and  be great. If not, the I fear it’s over for him and his career. Either way, I know he’s against the odds but he can pull it off. Hoping to see him soon 💪

My prediction,

As a fan of Chase, I look for him to be a 4-7 guy going forward whichever color he is on.
Watching a video of all his crashes the other day, I realized that he may himself be the common denominator.
This is not a slight to him at all.  I would like to see him battling for wins.

Weird statement, if you watch a crash compilation of any one rider the common denominator will always be them

No team in their right mind will sign him.

That was a hard hit. ACL sucks, but glad he wasn’t further injured. I hope Chase takes this time to collect himself, clear his head, and come back swinging. Racing is better when he is out there.

Him posting a black & white photo on his IG is quite telling we won’t be seeing him on the COLOR green in 27’.

Kawasaki. Let the good times roll.

Best financial decision he could do is ride out the kawi contract and just mail it in. Sure I’ll get down voted but it’s the truth. No one is gonna sign him to any real money. And he’ll never win a championship again. It’s almost a guarantee that the money in his contract now is the last big money contract he’ll ever have. Take the summer off, surf, get the knee fixed and ride around in 4-10 next few years. Win a SX here or there and sleep on a stack of money.

How about, along the lines of what Blair said, take some time off. Get the knee fixed, and maybe take SX next year off. Find a bike you gel with (I assume he's done at Kawi), and do testing during the winter, and come out swinging for MX '27.

No acl eh?? I can hear mc giggling...

a lot of guys saying he gonna be on blue... you honestly think cringe lord gonna be down with him as a teammate?? And... He won't be dealing with Bobby, he'll be dealing w factory yamaha, who, after seeing his last two seasons of blaming the bike, can't be too stoked to be the next team he throws under the bus and wants out before they even hit daytona...

Dood needs to take a k dub and get his head straight...

Bummer. Races are more fun when he's there and at his best. Most of his time off over the last few years has been for head injuries so maybe this time off without the stress of that will do him some good.

The comment about the comeback story being personal seems telling to me. Bet he's at the point where fit and freedom are going to be the priority and not the $$$. He just watched an old friend of his win the SX title by going that route. Doubt we see chase on a true factory team ever again.

He wasnt comfortable on the Honda.  Lawrence brothers do Ok with the bike.

He wasnt comfortable on the KTM.  Tomac, Prado and Coenens do ok with it.

He hasnt yet got comfortable on the Kawi. He won a couple sx.  Fabvre did ok on it.  Anderson did ok on it.

If I were a betting man, he rides out the contract, cashes the check and retires at the end of it. We’ll never see the details of it. But willing to bet he rides the minimum number of races each year to get full payment.

What about Chase's history or character suggests to you that he would even consider doing this? I think it was zacho on moto 60 that said chase was last guy at the track still testing the week before lakewood. I get a lot of the criticisms of him but this notion that he'll just collect a paycheck is such a lazy take not supported by much of anything. Most of the time I think it says more about the person offering this opinion than it does chase.

oh, calm down. He's not calling Chase LAZY - he's simply implying that just "cashing the check" for now might not be so bad.

I said the same thing when all this happened: Is it the WORST decision to just eat his decision, put in the laps, ride at 80% safely which will put a guy like him 7-10th and just fulfill the contract? He'll make a mountain of cash, remain safe, and it'll just be a crummy chapter in his racing legacy. I get that these guys ride TO WIN, and I respect that, but he's in a pretty awful position. PLENTY of us reading this would take the shitty job for a 7 figure paycheck guaranteed for a few years. I know I would.

Most humans are motivated more by money than most are willing to acknowledge.  I think as he ages, he’ll realize what cards on the table and more likely to make the sound decisions. His options right now seem to be a rumor he goes to star. If that is real, it surely would likely be for a very minimal salary, he could still get a gear deal, but would be drastically, maybe 1/5-1/10th of his current deal. It would likely also only be a 1 year deal. When he doesn’t win a title next year which he’s shown nothing in his entire career that he’s likely to win a title next year. Where’s the leave him? Searching for another contract. Which in all likely hood will at that time be deal of 5-10 place rider, which is highly likely where he’ll be heading into 28.

People who are driven to succeed at his level aren't wired to be content just going through the motions.
