This guy makes you out to be a pretty big douche bag. Got a response?

I think he’s pretty on point.

These guys come across as anklebiters. Robert Ford thought he'd be a hero for taking down Jesse James

I feel like people bash moto media people because they know it will create a bit of controversy and get clicks. It's only the core audience that would even care so it's a bit desperate. Think of something novel.

Steve carries himself like a travel sport team mom. Cares about motocross but everything has to be his way or no way.

Podcast drama. Even moto isn't immune to it apparently. Dude's video is an hour long. He talk about Mathes for the whole thing? Anyone got cliff notes?

Listened at 1.5x speed this morning on my commute.

  • He's got valid criticism for Steve shitting on the announcing at the Stopwatch Nationals. Steve's constantly shutting down fans who nitpick at the SMX broadcasting (more often than not including his buddies Weege and JT), then goes and shits on the guys broadcasting a 9-hour event that's not even an official race on the SMX schedule. Bit of a hypocrite in that regard.
  • Jack talking about Cooksey and how he shouldn't speak in such a derogatory way that burns bridges and whatnot... better off shouting that to a brick wall. That's Cooksey's bread and butter, he'll never stop being this way as that's what's garnered him his audience to begin with.
  • Comparing his channel CycleDrag and his 715k followers to Pulp having 53k subscribers... apples to oranges. One, street bikes will always have a wider audience than dirt bikes. Two, PulpMX is a radio show/podcast, primarily. Rarely do I play the YouTube version of the show, what do they offer visually that sets it apart from just listening? CycleDrag integrates visual content and editing into their videos, Pulp is a radio show, it's that simple.
  • He says "let me know your thoughts below" but seems to have disabled comments on the video. Not sure why.

Did he mention that he was the one broadcasting the stopwatch nationals? Someone got their feelings hurt.

He did, and that's exactly why he made the video, you can tell that Pulp segment where Steve ripped the announcing really got to him. Also showed a clip where he had just interviewed Steve about the LCQ challenge race right before Glen Helen, so Steve saying "I don't know who these guys are" got to him, too.

That guy believes he is way too important…Steve was correct in his criticism it was horrible, they did make a big deal out of it being a “World Championship” and the Ducati thing just got real cringy….Maybe the guy that yelled at Eli for not going to his high five line also informed these guys to overblow the “World” thing on their stream….

I watched the Glen Helen stream and agree with everything steve and them were saying about it. It was awful they didn't know shit. At multiple times throughout the races they were saying this was the "first pro win" or "first pro result" trying to correlate this one off money race as if its a pro motocross race.

I really got the idea these guys dont know moto outside of california or glen helen in general they just come off as complete airheads.

Idk why its not letting me edit BUT edit to add: It is cool having a stream of a race like that on youtube I do appreciate the effort and being able to watch it.

And just so we are clear its not just these guys, the announcing during the LL stream isn't much better but idgaf im just happy to be able to watch it lol.

MX Media is nothing more than an approved press release.

On the mobile forum you can edit your posts but on the normal forum not. Hopefully @ML512 can look into this.

Why can’t people just be happy that we had coverage of this event? If NBC was there, everybody would complain about the broadcasters, interviewers, TV production, and everything else.

Everyone should just be stoked that we had the opportunity to watch this live and not have to watch YouTube clips or wait for cycle news the month later to hear about it.

Matthes did slip up last week on the topic of sx announcing when he said "we know it sucks just move on", corrected himself real quick changed "sucks" to something else can't remember what.

They know it's bad they just can't change it and don't want to burn bridges. Tough spot to be in.

If that's the attitude, then then broadcasters should just be stoked that people tuned in to watch, and block out the criticism. Why can't they just be happy that people watched the coverage?

Their announcing was terrible. That guys knows drag racing and can breakdown Pro Stock bikes like no other, but he doesn’t know anything about mx/sx. I enjoy his drag racing content, but his mx content is lacking.

The only thing dumber than complaining about announcing is complaining about podcasters. I'm here for the racing, not for broadcasting excellence.

It's like being served cake and complaining about the plate. Why do you give a shit about the plate?

If it's too flimsy,  my cake falls to the floor.

What Matthes was doing was far from criticizing. It was straight up being a whinny bitch.

He strikes me as one of types that can't stand having voices in the moto world that aren't him or his friends.

I don't know what a whinny bitch is, but it sure sounds like this Glen Helen guy is whining like a bitch.

Not unusual, most people aren't familiar with it.

For those that aren't - a "whinny bitch" is a female dog that makes a sound like a horse.

Steve needs to drink decaf and cut back on the weight loss shots.
