Marchbanks is top Kwaka rn, so maybe the question is above vitards intelligence pay grade. Chase almost got passed by Marchbanks last weekend in moto 2, until he woke up.

Ive seen both clips of Chase press day crash, looked like a classic rookies endo.

a fried clutch on press day cruising around for a few laps would be wild. Surely that cant be the case

In the Vital vid ML just dropped he said something about the bike was cutting out in different spots on the track, near the mechanics area specifically. Chase said, "the knee is cooked." We're never going to see Chase on green again, are we? This blows. Not like he was in peak form but there goes one top guy out for the year. I think we would have gotten days he was on it. Chase really needs to regroup and change some things in his program. He's going to be 27 in September. Far from old but certainly not young in mx years. He doesn't have seasons to waste like he did this year. '26 was a complete was

Edit: Just remembered JCoop is out, too. All of the sudden the super deep 450 class is looking thin already

Top Kawa sits 9th in points. 2nd best Kawa sits 5th in points. Peak vital logic

Michael Lindsay reported in new vid that mechanics during practice heard Chase's bike cutting out while riding. Confirmed bike failure. Kind of shocking (not) keyboard warriors think one of the best riders on the planet just decided to hit his back brake without pulling the clutch in.

if that’s true it’s insane Chase didn’t pull off the track or the mechanics didn’t tell him to.

Another head scratcher from Kawi.

What pro rides a national calibre race track on a press day with an engine cutting out, then endos on the biggest jump??

If they heard it not running properly, surely theyd call him in asap. At least Chase should've peddled it back to the pits.

The videos suggest the engine simply died and he performed a classic endo.

Again, was Marchbanks bike missfiring too? Vitards reckon unless youre a race winning champion, being a factory riders mean f all on the development side. They should basically be on identical works factory supplied machinery, yet Chase is the only factory Kwaka rider on earth having these issues.

Just as it’s a head scratcher a top rider in the world wouldn’t pull in the clutch.

A top rider in the world I would imagine could feel his bike cutting out is a head scratcher too.

Wish he pulled off and they got it figured out

It may have been his mistake, who knows, but regardless his mind clearly isn't in it with that bike. it's extremely difficult for these guys to go the pace they do without a certain amount of feeling and trust in their bikes.  "Am I not allowed to brake tap now either" sounds like a hangover from the arguments he must be having privately with the team, probably (if Mitch Evans is correct) in regard to how they want him to ride the bike and change his style in other ways.

I'll start with... I don't really care for sexton.  The bike complaints from Geico days on.... I do feel like he's a headcase at times.

Having said that, you're wrong on all accounts.  You've posted the results to one race to show what , exactly.  Garret is a better rider?  Sexton has won every title there is to win, It's why he makes a few million a a year.  That's not a slight on Marchbanks.  He's paid as a #2.

I'd look closer at that crash,   what you're seeing and what's happened are very different.

You got an hour?….I could tell you some stories about Bruce back in the Jet Ski days when he was with Kaw and later when he ran the IJSBA into the ground….

I'm a jet ski fan and was just talking to my brother about the IJSBA, I'd be curious to hear.

IJSBA is almost dead.

Back in the day with smaller boats, stand ups and tighter courses that were closer to the shoreline the crowd got a show. I tried watching recently and it was just turbocharged tuna boats blasting across open water miles from anything, who wants to watch that?

We don't know the full story. For all we know he pulled in and they thought they fixed it, or he thought it was only cutting out under load. It's all speculation.

I'd take a guess this failure has to do with the fact they've apparently tried a different engine package basically every weekend since Prado was on the team (per lewis phillips x mitch evans interview https://youtu.be/eEG-7ko2J9k?t=5588

Sexton might be back too.  I suspect it depends on the ‘27.  But then again, maybe not.

To play devil's advocate a little, Prado's KTM blew up on him just last week, Chase is just unfortunate enough to have his grenade mid-air...

Kawi needs someone like RJ, JCoop and/or Mookie to come onboard with Marchbanks (hell, run three 450's) and run a roster of riders that are capable of putting in some under-the-radar surprise finishes, until they actually get the bike figured out. Otherwise, they're gonna keep upsetting star riders in a very public way and end up with multiple divorces in a span of a few years.

Flame out? Loss of fuel pressure under load? It looks like it to be it shut off right after the bike G’d out on the face. Could be a hundred different things to make it shut off.

Would really be surprised if he fried a clutch on press day. It'd have to be a straight up defective part.
